With three new artists to discover and a well-known artist among our readers, this 8th edition of "Quick Sound Bites" is a real pleasure that we're eager to dive into! From California and North Carolina to Germany, passing through the United Kingdom, our express trip across the planet of Indie Music promises beautiful emotions. Fasten your seat belts, immediate takeoff!

_________________

Anna Hudson - The Way It Ends

I reckon North Carolina is the place to be for discovering musical wizards. First, we got Stephen LaVine, Leah Lawson, The Collection, and now, brace yourself for Anna Hudson – the maestro mixin' up genres in her latest single, "The Way It Ends". It's like she's playing a game of mix-and-match with indie-folk, folk-pop, and just a dash of indie-rock.

Amidst the sirens and city noises, Anna strays a bit from North Carolina's scenic nature to sketch her own musical landscape, complete with a vocal identity that's bolder than a neon sign. What might hook you from the get-go, much like it did for us, is the mind-blowing falsetto in her voice, giving off major Dido vibes.

Now, the song takes an unexpected turn in its second half (no spoilers, but trust us, it's worth the detour), allowing you to shatter all those preconceived notions you might have about music. You think you're wading into one vibe, but before you know it, you're cannonballing into another.

Anna Hudson had the listener in mind during her writing phase, as she puts it: "I wanted to create a song that pulls the listener into a movie - the emotional kind that really sticks and keeps you up at night." Mission accomplished, because you immediately feel part of the action, relating to this almost-love story she's spinning: "It’s an ode to all relationships that are too good to be true and too hard to lose," as Anna spills.

The production is exactly what we love – simple yet effective. And get this, the young artist, currently juggling books and beats at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, didn't wait for a graduation cap to showcase her talents. As she spilled the beans, "I wrote this song really quickly just sitting on my bed last summer." Yep, sometimes, greatness doesn't need a fancy degree and years of study – it can just spring from sitting on your bed. Who knew, right?

Reach out to Anna Hudson

_________________

Jack Cullen - Colours

Colours" is a song that delivers on the promise its title makes. It's like a box of crayons exploded in a musical blender – full of hues, influences, and different vibes. It hovers somewhere between folk-pop and indie-folk, but who cares? Jack Cullen possesses the superhero ability to erase musical boundaries and construct his own vibrant universe. We love that audacity!

With warm vocals that could give Noah Kahan or Ben Howard a run for their money, this UK artist breaks the mold and keeps us on our toes in less than 3 minutes. He throws in rhythm curveballs that are as confusing as they are addictive.

His mission? To sprinkle light where there's a shortage, as he eloquently puts it: "I hope that this song will be a reminder in the darkest of times, just how colorful we all are". It is – this song is like a shot of adrenaline you'll happily pull out in all your dark times. It's the musical equivalent of a neon sign saying, "Don't worry, be colorful"!

Reach out to Jack Cullen

Same Side - Part of It

Kevin's letting his emotions run wild and free, no holds barred, as he puts it: "It feels good to have a space where I can do what I want".

With his album "Oh No" dropping last Friday, Kevin serves up a mix of unabashed rock tunes like "Now", "Cruise", "On & On & On", and "POV" alongside more intimate acoustic numbers like "What You're Missing" and "Part of It", which we're diving into today.

Same Side proves that you can be a rockstar with the big boys while nailing it solo with a splash of color and diversity. "Part of It" is like a warm hug from a melancholic teddy bear, diving deep into struggles with almost no solutions in sight.

With vocals smoother than a fresh jar of peanut butter, delicately controlled, where intensity is dialed to perfection, "Part of It" is that raw, unfiltered rock ballad that keeps emotions authentic. Play it on repeat and let it wrap you up like a cozy blanket on a rainy day.

Reach out to Same Side

_________________

Luna Keller - Swallow The Sea

What's better than Luna Keller to wrap up this Quick Sound Bites, with a flourish? The singer-songwriter based in Germany keeps revealing her album "Ocean Inside Of Me" track by track, and "Swallow The Sea" is the 4th episode of this adventure. Each of the ten "chapters" is accompanied by a music video, and "Swallow The Sea" is no exception.

Luna, always knowing how to surround herself, this new gem is produced by Dominic Romano (a household name by now) and mastered by Sam Moses. Even her father Roger Keller and Kristaps (aka Pacific K, another well-known artist among IMC readers) make appearances in the music video. This time, after water, fire takes the spotlight.

Musically, "Swallow The Sea" is one of the album's most folk songs, narrating Luna's personal battle against her depression a few years ago, and it's probably the strongest song emotionally. In fact, the very first and the very last lines (which are exactly the same) describe this feeling of suffocation in her struggles perfectly: "Oh what a mess to be broken".

In the emotionally charged chorus, with beautiful vocal flights and harmonies that only Luna can pull off, today's Luna implores yesterday's Luna to move forward at all costs: "Stop the bleeding / Just keep breathing / Stay with me / Hold your heart tight / Say it’s alright / Swallow the sea".

A very successful fourth chapter for the IMC Family artist, marking her 18th feature on IMC (yes, yes, 18!), and reminding us of excellent news: there are still 6 chapters to discover, including one with the excellent singer-songwriter from Birmingham, Dom Malin, who's about to drop the best single of his career... Tomorrow! Small world! And what luck we have to know all these geniuses!

Reach out to Luna Keller

_________________

Luke Gard - Ashes and Wounds

It's time to kick off the 2024 season with a new face on IMC: Luke Gard. The artist already boasts three acoustic albums and is currently crafting his debut singer-songwriter album.

Mastering the art of songwriting, coupled with a warm voice reminiscent of that good friend who's there to comfort you by the fireside, Luke delivers a magical performance in "Ashes and Wounds", filled with sweetness and kindness.

Guaranteed to spend 4 minutes disconnected from the world's hustle and bustle and a delightful taste of what promises to be a compelling album. If you're a fan, like us, of the perfect blend of guitar and piano, prepare to be captivated.

Reach out to Luke Gard

_________________

Specific Coast - Problems

Today is a big day because we're excited to welcome a new artist into the IMC Family! That's right, it's the 5th feature in 3 years for Specific Coast, who's been wowing us for quite a while now.

This musician's tunes have popped up in TV series, including the likes of Ginny & Georgia on Netflix, proving Specific Coast is not a one-hit wonder. Each song is as relatable as mistaking your phone for your coffee mug in the morning. "Problems" is a sweet indie-folk ballad that's part of his first EP, "Trying My Best" dropping in April.

The track dives into those problems we pile up and carry around like unwanted baggage. It all boils down perfectly to the very last line of the song: "I got too many problems to leave it all behind". That's what we love about Specific Coast – straight-shooting lyrics and genuine vocals that deliver any message with undeniable power. Welcome to the family, Specific Coast – where the only problem is not having enough of your music in our lives!

Reach out to Specific Coast

_________________

Martin Harich - Liar

Get ready for a tidal wave of energy, a ridiculously catchy melody that will set up shop in your mind for the entire week (and then some), a powerhouse vocal performance, and lyrics that hit you right in the relatability feels. All of this awaits you in the latest single from Martin Harich, hailing from the musical lands of Slovakia.

In our humble opinion, if this song were to strut its stuff at the Eurovision Song Contest, it'd be the odds-on favorite for victory. That's the kind of colossal potential packed into this indie-pop banger!

Martin Harich has been writing, composing, and producing his tunes since the tender age of 15, and boy, does it show. It's pro-level stuff – flawless, like a pizza delivery arriving exactly on time. Martin says he's an overthinker. And when the self-proclaimed overthinker that I am, whose mother managed to keep secrets for over 30 years, recommends a song, you know it's legit. So, give it a spin, put it on repeat, and watch as it becomes the soundtrack to your life – no boredom in sight!

Happy Monday, everyone!

Let's kick off the week with our final "Quick Sound Bites" selection of 2023 before a well-deserved break for the holidays. And what a selection it is! Here, we'll juggle between our modern-day superheroes and the superheroes of our adolescence who are back to make us groove once more. A real journey through time, emotions, and what the indie music world is today: full of pleasant surprises and goosebumps. Hope you enjoy the ride!

And if you want even more, the latest episode of Luna's podcast, 'Why Doesn't Everyone Know These Songs,' is now up! A perfect way to extend the journey for an hour with the best of December's indie music!

_________________

Axe & the Ivory - Strangers

Third submission from the Aussies of Axe & The Ivory, and it's a resounding yes for the third time without any hesitation. After "Find It" in November 2022 and the unforgettable "Pinball Machine" in March 2023, Rosie and her mates are back on IMC with "Strangers," their new single released in early December.

As effective as bands with catchy melodies like WILD or Animal Island, Axe & The Ivory's sound stands out thanks to Rosie's exceptional voice, unmistakable among thousands. She knows how to convey powerful emotions without going overboard.

"Strangers" was born from a real experience, a somewhat "forced" move after a breakup. And as Rosie was loading her things, she faced a strange question from her former neighbor:

"I was out front putting some things in the car and our retired neighbor Ken was putting his bins out. He saw the mattress in the trailer and must have thought we were selling it, so yells out (jokingly) 'you finally got rid of him or did he get rid of you?' not realizing that he nailed exactly what was going on. I started to ugly cry. Ken freaked out and ran back into his house."

Yes, even the worst experiences (which we often laugh about later) can lead to masterpieces like this one. A great source of inspiration that gave birth to a Folk gem with impactful vocal harmonies, moving writing, and stunning production quality that the group of friends has accustomed us to. We want more! Australia rules!

Reach out to Axe & the Ivory

_________________

Ryan Nealon - Human

When we see Ryan Nealon's name in our queue, we can't help but reminisce about that unforgettable day in June 2021 when he made us shed tears in front of the screen with "Not Coming Home". Yes, we still consider Ryan to be one of the artists who has left the most indelible mark on our 22 years of music promotion, leaving an enduring imprint on our hearts.

His new single "Human" is more or less linked to "Not Coming Home" because Ryan continues to explore the theme of time passing, something we can't control. We all grow, we see others grow around us, and sometimes, we feel a bit lost. It's akin to the sentiment expressed in Allison Leah's song "24 Years Down".

Taken from his first full-length album, "Losing Sleep and Losing Friends," released last Friday and already amassing millions of streams, "Human" invites us to find our place in a world that sometimes evolves too fast:

"Everyone's changing / starting their families and building foundations / thought I'd be happier going against the grain / but maybe it's too late to hop on the train and be stable."

Approaching thirty, Ryan Nealon reflects on what he could have done differently. But when we come back to reality and focus on his music and career, there's nothing he could have done differently. Touching us deeply with every release is already a tremendous achievement.

Reach out to Ryan Nealon

_________________

James Walsh - Sweet December

When I received this song from James Walsh, I burst into laughter while looking at the previous feedback I gave him two years ago. Are you ready? Here's what I told him: "Hi James! When I heard your voice, I immediately thought of Starsailor and then realized you put them in the 'similar artists'." What he didn't mention back then is that, in fact, HE IS the voice of Starsailor. Yeah, that band that rocked my teenage years with the album "Silence Is Easy" 20 years ago. I listened to that record on repeat, and 20 years later, here I am exchanging words with one of the heroes of my adolescence... How crazy is that? I feel both a bit ashamed that I didn't recognize him and honored to be able to listen to his solo work.

After discussing the post-Christmas period a few days ago with Harley Eblen's "The Last Day of December", let's now focus on the Christmas period, which James describes as "the cocoon before the madness of the new year begins". Yes, today, after Ryan Nealon, we linger a bit more on the passage of time and the frenzy that accompanies it.

"Sweet December" is that little gem that allows us to hit the pause button and reflect a bit. A beautiful acoustic ballad with numerous details in the background that you'll only hear with good-quality headphones. All carried by that unique voice that, too, might have cradled your early years. There's a lot of nostalgia and tranquility in this little ditty of less than 3 minutes that leaves us with a sense of absolute fulfillment.

Good news, an album is on its way and should be released in March. And we can't wait! We can only wish James the same success for this solo project as he had with the band!

Reach out to James Walsh

_________________

Judge & Jury - Eventually

Well, after James Walsh from Starsailor, I'm starting to wonder if my submissions queue today isn't some kind of prank. Come on, let's stop playing around, tell me where the hidden camera is now!

In the same year as "Silence Is Easy," the iconic album from Starsailor, another album was released - "Three Days Grace" by the band of the same name. Another album I had on repeat during that time. Judge & Jury is the new project from the multiplatinum record producer Howard Benson and... Neil Sanderson, co-founder of the Canadian rock band Three Days Grace.

Let me tell you, listening to two submissions in a row from legends that marked my musical journey in the same year is almost miraculous. Finding them on IMC today, 20 years later, makes me realize how much space my passion for music occupies in my life.

Far from the electric guitars of Three Days Grace, "Eventually" leans on a powerful piano and an almost naked vocal performance, no effects, no frills, where emotion shines through in every line. If you're going through a tough time, this song will be your motivation to get better: "I'll get better, eventually", repeats this voice torn by emotion.

As the song progresses, the vocal power increases, injecting emotions into our veins and triggering what we love most on IMC: goosebumps.

Before diving into tomorrow's 'Friday Releases,' let's embark on a new world tour of songs you might have missed, but could be the perfect addition to your playlists! Buckle up for a musical journey through the United States, South Africa, and finishing off with Sweden. Secure your seatbelts, we're taking off in 3, 2, 1... Bon voyage!

_________________

Brandon Grant - With You

Brandon Grant comes from Cape Town (South Africa) and sends us some of the summer heat we sorely lack in the northern hemisphere.

His latest single "With You" reminds us of those tracks that come from Australia, often classified as what we call "Coastal Folk", with perfect vocal harmonies, a catchy as-hell melody, and relatable lyrics. Because “With You” can be applied to anyone dear to you, and to whom you want to remind them!

You will have been warned, yet another opportunity to sing at the top of your lungs with an artist who we will continue to watch closely in 2024 because the quality of his work is remarkable.

Reach out to Brandon Grant

Fresh Hot Waffles - Boozy Love Motel

With beautiful warm vocal harmonies and an addictive melody as if injected intravenously, “Boozy Love Motel”, the new single from the Californian duo Fresh Hot Waffles will keep you singing for a few days.

The production quality is simple but up to what we expect from a good folk song, with attention paid to small details that make the difference, like this slight crack of vinyl at the end and these birds in the intro. Did you notice all this? No, maybe you were already singing along too loudly, like us!

Reach out to Fresh Hot Waffles

Vilhelm Buchaus - Together

If you like great voices like Lewis Capaldi, you will probably fall for Vilhelm Buchaus. His new single “Together” was released yesterday on all platforms, and it hits hard!

Yes, of course, we all faced a break-up one day, and that's probably what most pop songs are about. But there is something special about this Swedish artist. The exceptional sensitivity that we hear in his voice, in every line. Like a skilled juggler, he perfectly masters the dosage of emotion, and the powerful piano helps support the most delicate parts.

For his first feature on IMC, the artist sets the quality bar very high, the production has nothing to envy of the greatest musicians. It's very professional, and this editorial favorite is perhaps only the first in a long series. And at only 22 years old, that's very promising!

Reach out to Vilhelm Buchaus

Let's start our trip today to Australia, to discover Riley Pearce's new single. This name is not unknown to us, because we played his tracks on the radio, but this is his first feature on IMC. Having grown up in a musical universe from the age of 17, he was busking with covers but also folky compositions. The releases kept coming, and after more than 60 songs, Riley Pearce has already received support from Triple J, our friend Alex Rainbird, and Rolling Stone.

The quality is therefore there for this new track whether from a production point of view or from a writing point of view, very relatable: slowing down our pace of life a little to be able to enjoy more. Yes, there's an obvious connection with Camille Trail and Allison Leah (see below), because it's about time passing faster than you think, as Riley explains:

"I think one of the biggest things I became aware of as after becoming a father was of life's own finitude. In the flurry of life and adjusting to the chaos of it all, I found myself making conscious efforts to slow down, realize the moment for what it is and live in it, breathe in it for a while to capture it as best I could".

The strong point of 'Slow This Down' is undeniably its ability to immerse us in descriptive writing and make us think. We don't know about you but here, it's been raining for over a month. It's perfect weather for looking out the window and spending time thinking... about time passing.

Reach out to Riley Pearce

This EP accompanied us all weekend on the road. Were we hoping down the road? This is a question you can find in the chorus of this acoustic ballad.

“Your Light” is the last track of the EP and we can say that it closes it with delicacy and finesse. If you've ever faced a break-up and felt like a little light was still on, this song is for you. Perfectly bringing together nostalgia and hope, “Your Light” was recorded without artifice, to keep the genuine side of the message.

Take out your lighter (you'll understand why by clicking play), and enjoy this little folk gem whose final vocal harmonies will give you the chills you came for. Also, this 5-track EP is definitely worth a listen. Get ready to offer your ears a bit of magic and rest!

We feel in each line these folk influences that Jeff Mailfert collected during his travels, aboard his VW Van. A big fan of folk music, the artist has nothing to envy of the big names in this genre: he already has everything he needs to be great.

Reach out to Jeff Mailfert

Camille Trail - twenties

Let's return to Australia! As soon as we heard the first line of "twenties", "Only five years 'till I'm thirty", we immediately thought of another song. Yes, “24 Years Down” by Allison Leah. These songs about time passing, and about us, lost in the middle of a decade, can only speak to us.

More than a mid-twenties assessment, Camille Trail also talks about her musical career: “Got no songs playing on the radio / No I’m not even a little bit close”. The writing is immersive and we share the struggles and questions of Camille Trail, a fantastic Australian artist who seems to have found the perfect refuge in indie-folk.

The vocals are absolutely sublime and can trigger the thrill quite easily. Then we want more, so we listen to the previous single, "Gotta Get To Know You", and we fall in love with this warm voice and this extraordinary personality. We will have to count on Camille Trail in 2024 as one of IMC's unmissable artists. And even if her songs are not played on the radio, she can be reassured: this is the case for 90% of the artists we promote, and yet, some of them already make a living from their music.

Reach out to Camille Trail

Hi everyone! And Happy Thanksgiving to all concerned! If this special day is meant to give thanks, then we would like to take this opportunity to thank all the artists who have trusted us over the years. We also thank our loyal readers. And the artists you will discover today! Independent musicians often thank their fans, often thank bloggers like us for their support, but it's time to thank these artists. Because without them, no IMC. Without them, no creativity. Without them, the world would be such a different place. Let's celebrate independent music with these three indie-folk gems!

_________________

Chris DuPont - Annie Lindbergh

If, like us, you love piano, strings, and acoustic guitar, you'll love this combo because Chris DuPont's "Annie Lindbergh" has them all.

Taken from the 5-track EP "Fragile Things" (which we warmly recommend you listen to entirely, because it's absolutely delicious), this little ballad begins acoustically and gradually grows until a cinematic ending with the strings as the main character.

It's romantic, full of metaphors, with a carefully measured emotional intensity, whether in the vocals (the harmonies are of remarkable beauty, by the way) or the production which is careful, down to the very small details - put on your best headphones for a better listening experience. Such a level of detail is pretty rare, we've only seen this in songs from Thomas LaVine or Genesis Ritchot until now.

Chris DuPont charmed us in just a few seconds, and that's probably just the beginning. Don't be surprised if you see him again several times on IMC in 2024. He fully deserves a comfortable seat on our big sofa.

Reach out to Chris DuPont

Daniel Trakell - Waves

Every time I see Daniel Trakell's name in our submission queue, we feel a rush of nostalgia and happiness. Nostalgia because he is one of the very first artists that IMC presented to its readers in 2017, two years before our English friend who has a renowned YouTube channel and well before Daniel's music appeared on the Locke & Key Netflix series. And happiness because we already know, even before listening to the song, that it's going to be an excellent moment of pleasure.

And it happened again with “Waves”, the third single from his new album which will be released tomorrow. With "Waves", the impression we get is simple: Daniel finally reaches the pinnacle of perfection. After witnessing all of his musical adventures over the years, what more could we expect from an artist? That he moves us with every line? It's done. That his melodies bewitch us? It's done. That his writing pierces our hearts? It's done.

"Waves", seen as possibly the modern rebirth of Bob Dylan, is a light song, whose melody is easy to remember, and which takes us on a journey into the sometimes blurred boundaries of a relationship. Are we talking about a breakup or a loved one who has passed away? Only the author knows, but this possible double meaning allows a good number of listeners to relate to this wonderful gem with perfect vocal harmonies. Hey, by the way!

This is the 5th feature on IMC for our Australian artist. So it’s high time to finally be able to say “Welcome to the IMC Family!”

Reach out to Daniel Trakell

Jordan Smith Reynolds - 1933

If you miss someone who is far away (whether physically or in the afterlife), this is the opportunity to reconcile yourself with the distance.

We've known Jordan for 4 years now, and we're excited that we can finally bring a spotlight on his music on IMC. He is a complete artist, and the awards he accumulates prove it, including recently winning the 2023 ASCAP Green Theme Song Contest.

In his rather acoustic musical universe, Jordan uses his immersive and detailed writing as a massive weapon. Every word and every line is intense and always delivers the right message to the right recipient. His new single "1933" is no exception to this rule, and will help you shorten the distance with someone you miss terribly.

As if you were sending him a postcard from 1933. And besides, Jordan confides that he "recorded this song on a rubber bridge guitar made in the 1930s"!

Hey guys! We hope you had a great weekend! Ours was fantastic and allowed us to prepare this new selection of little gems for you to discover urgently. And you will see that certain artists, although this is their first feature on IMC, are not unknown to us. We've already told you so many times: the indie music universe is both very vast and tiny and everyone (or almost) knows each other. Ready to dive into a highly emotional selection?

_________________

CLEMENTIN3 - scars

Even though this is the first feature alone for CLEMENTIN3, it's not her first appearance on IMC. You have already heard her alongside Gabriele Catoni in January 2023 on the song "Winter".

And Gabriele is never far away, since he is the producer of this new masterpiece.

“Scars,” out today, is a delicate ballad that builds as it goes along. The vocal performance is absolutely divine and will probably rock your weekend with cozy fireside vibes.

A true gem of writing where the artist lays herself bare, where each word carries a strong emotion! And what's more, the music video is just as fascinating!

Reach out to CLEMENTIN3

_________________

Francisco Sola - The Picture

Even if this is Francisco Sola's first feature on IMC, he is not unknown to us. We discovered his music in February 2023, after speaking about him with Genesis Ritchot during our interview in the "Indie Hour" podcast. If you've been following Genesis news, you may have noticed that he released "Flower Hearts" in June as a duet with... Francisco Sola.

We, therefore, knew that this Argentinian artist was a guarantee of quality, and we were not disappointed when we listened to "The Picture". For several years now we have been irresistibly attracted to Argentina, already having Matu as a member of the IMC Family.

“The Picture” is an auditory slap in the face. In just 2 minutes and 30 seconds, Francisco manages to paint images in our minds, without much difficulty. You know how much we love daring mixes, especially electric guitar in indie-folk compositions.

Carried by vocals whose intensity is superbly controlled, "The Picture" absorbs us quite quickly, and here we are taken on a journey between nostalgia and melancholy and writing that plants an arrow in your heart from the first two lines. A true stroke of genius.

And good news, the latest single from his debut album, "Delete", will be available at the end of this week!

About ten days ago, we slipped this little nugget into our “New IMC Friday” playlist. And a few days later, Mae Krell gave us the pleasure of sending it to us. This is the 4th feature from this incredible artist, and you know what that means: she will join the IMC Family next time!

Mae Krell, for those who don't know, is an entire universe to discover, with enormous sensitivity and a unique double-edged vocal signature: you like it or you don't like it. Here at IMC, we fell in love with this divine voice from the first moments, in June 2021. It is therefore a pleasure to introduce you to her latest gem "who we said we'd be".

At the crossroads between indie-folk and indie-pop, this new release is everything we expect from a good Mae Krell song. She raises a lot of questions in moving writing and from an original point of view that we have never seen before in our 22 years of indie music promotion: the artist talks about her old group of friends, and looks at the current situation, to witness what others have become, and what she herself has become.

A comparison often encouraged by social media, which is not mentioned in the song, but whose subjacency we can guess in the line "These are all stories from my screen".

For us, this level of expertise in writing reflects excellent maturity, knowing how to reinvent oneself by creating new points of view is a real feat in this artistic world where everyone tries to copy everyone else. But Mae Krell is and will remain unique. And that's why we love her so much.

After a gazillion hints (or maybe just a few), we're rolling out our newest creation: "Quick Sound Bites." Because let's face it, in a world where attention spans are shorter than my patience in traffic, who has time for lengthy articles? We get it; so we'll be doing both.

Alright, without further ado, brace yourselves for bite-sized musical revelations. Expect to sip your coffee and discover tunes faster than you can say, "Is it the weekend yet?" Cheers to quick hits of auditory bliss!

_________________

Paul Cook & The Chronicles - Hello Moon

To be perfectly honest with you, we couldn't find anything better than this song by Paul Cook & The Chronicles to open our new season on IMC and celebrate our big comeback. A perfect indie-folk ballad, with warm and comforting vocals, with a touch of reverie and fantasy. Taken from his new album "Cheers Love", available since November 3, of which this song is the opening track, "Hello Moon" combines melancholy and poetry and takes us to the heart with its divine vocal harmonies.

With Paul Cook, everything is always worked out, down to the smallest detail, and this level of precision is precisely what gives all the depth to this song. Although a difficult step in a song, the bridge is particularly a success, as if we were starting to soar above the world around us. A successful song that only bodes well for the album to be discovered urgently!

Sean Martin West - Coffee & Toast

Back in August, we introduced you to Sean Martin West and his song “For You.” The Nashville-based artist is back on IMC with a freshly released folk sound with a particular groove. If you enjoy this column with a coffee, the song will speak to you: its title is "Coffee & Toast".

No, the song has nothing to do with a cooking recipe, but rather a recipe for love. That moment when you realize a relationship is on the rocks, you know? Straddling indie folk, singer-songwriter, and jazzy tunes, this musical sweetness will envelop you on a unique journey through the hesitations of a fledgling relationship.

This guy is a real genius while staying authentic, don't hesitate to connect with him, he's a gem of a human being!

Taylor Latham - Eternal Sunshine

It was also at the end of August that Taylor Latham set up shop on IMC for the first time with “Paper Rounds”. This artist has a lot in common with an artist from the IMC Family: Taylor Topham, better known as Taylor T. Yes, of course, they have the same first name, the end of their last name sounds the same, they come from the same country, and they are both great travelers who do not like to be cooped up, and this is felt in their music, which is gradually tinged with colors and influences from all the countries they pass through. Oh, for sure, these two would get along great!

“Eternal Sunshine”, Taylor Latham’s new single, extends the summer a little longer. Here, we have had 3 storms in ten days, and it has been raining continuously since October 17, the rainfall records were shattered a long time ago. And today, miracle! First day without rain in a month. And here is this song called “Eternal Sunshine” which distills a little more warmth! With an acoustic guitar hammered to perfection, distilling an irresistible desire to get up and dance, Taylor strives to differentiate between the love we want (or think we want) and the love that we receive.

Yes, the love we receive is not the subject of many songs, and we found this point of view rather original. Coupled with a catchy-as-hell melody, and even trumpet at the end of the song, Taylor Latham's creativity explodes all limits in this song, which flirts with all musical boundaries by mixing influences with talent.
