I had an incredible experience on June 16, 2021. Back then, I was still using SubmitHub, a platform that allowed me to receive songs from artists (but they had to pay, nowadays it’s on my own website and it’s free!). And I fell in love with this incredible, magical, and captivating voice, from an artist named “Lucia.” Thanks to this unique voice and her inspiring folk universe, my article was online the next day on IMC.

I remember describing her as a “fairy” back then. I think it’s the right word. Because almost 4 years later, the magic still works. The little fairy has grown up because she has since collaborated with Dominic Romano, a talented Californian singer-songwriter and producer who produced Luna Keller’s 2nd album entirely. Then came several collaborations with Joe Pope, a singer-songwriter from Atlanta who is an outstanding reviewer and has written some great articles for IMC. The circle is complete, even if she’s not in the IMC Family yet because this is only her 4th feature (the next one will be the good one), Lucie Glang has already had one foot in the house for a long time.

Recently joined by Luna Keller for a concert together, Lucie Glang continues to give us chills with her wonderful writing in “Little Me.” Although very young, the artist shows great maturity by putting herself in the shoes of an accomplished adult, as she explains:

“Little Me is a hug from your older self, coming from a new perspective, knowing that things will turn out okay.”

Having had many discussions with Lucie Glang, I can confirm that she shows incredible maturity. And the innocence with which she reacts when she receives compliments on her music is almost touching. This young woman has gold in her vocal cords, and it’s always a pleasure to hear her sing. In “Little Me,” we’re almost slapped in the face with every line with relatable lyrics, like “Little me kicked on the ground / Little me has nightmares every night / But will sleep better in time.” And I can already see you coming from far away with your question: what does Joe Pope have to do with all this?

If you listen to the song with a smartphone speaker, you’ll unlikely hear him. Indeed, we can distinguish his voice in sublime vocal harmonies on the chorus, but I admit it’s quite discreet. The song was written in 2021 by the young German artist (almost at the time of releasing “Visions”), but it was really in 2022 that Joe joined her work sessions on this little gem. Lucie then recorded her vocals and acoustic guitar in her bedroom, then Joe finished the production by adding his vocals. A real transatlantic teamwork like we love them.

Joe Pope is an artist I admire enormously for his simplicity, sympathy, and talent, and I’m so happy he took Lucie under his wing, a bit like a protective uncle. And seeing these two amaze us once again with a collab delights me to no end.
