This Cookie Policy explains how Indie Music Center ("IMC", "we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on indiemusiccenter.com.
It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
A. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small file stored on your computer, smartphone, tablet or other device when you visit a website.
Cookies can be used for different purposes, including keeping you signed in, protecting an account, remembering technical preferences, or enabling specific website functionality.
Some cookies are strictly necessary for a website or a service requested by the user to function. Other cookies may require your consent before they can be stored or accessed.
B. Cookies used by Indie Music Center
IMC primarily uses cookies that are necessary for the operation, security, and authentication of the website.
These cookies may be used to:
- keep you signed in to your IMC account;
- identify an authenticated session;
- protect accounts against unauthorized access;
- maintain security during login and account operations;
- remember certain technical or functional choices;
- operate administrative tools required for the management of IMC.
Strictly necessary cookies cannot always be disabled through our cookie settings because the service requested by the user may not function correctly without them.
C. Account and authentication cookies
When you create an account or sign in to IMC, WordPress and IMC may use authentication and session cookies.
These cookies allow the website to identify that you are logged in and provide access to the appropriate Reader, Artist, Pro, or administrative areas.
They may also be used to secure login sessions and prevent unauthorized access.
The duration of these cookies depends on the type of session and whether you have chosen to remain signed in.
Logging out normally removes or invalidates the relevant authentication session.
D. Administrative session cookies
IMC contains internal tools allowing authorized administrators to preview certain account spaces, only for maintenance and making sure all features are working correctly and everything is displayed to users as it should.
These tools may use technical cookies such as:
imc_asv_session
imc_rsv_session
imc_psv_session
These cookies are used only for administrative preview functionality.
They are not used for advertising, analytics, or user profiling.
Their maximum duration is currently approximately four hours, and they are restricted to authenticated administrative use.
E. Security and technical cookies
IMC may use technical cookies or similar mechanisms where necessary to:
protect forms and account sessions;
prevent unauthorized or automated access;
maintain secure navigation;
manage temporary session information;
prevent fraud or abuse;
ensure that website functions requested by the user operate correctly.
These technologies are used only where necessary for the operation and security of IMC.
F. Cookie consent preferences
Where IMC uses a cookie or tracker that legally requires consent, it will not be activated before the user has made the required choice.
Where applicable, users will be able to:
Accept optional cookies;
Refuse optional cookies;
or choose which categories they wish to allow.
Refusing optional cookies will not prevent access to the basic public functions of IMC.
Your cookie preference may itself be stored using a strictly necessary cookie or similar mechanism so that we do not need to ask for the same choice on every page.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the cookie settings provided on the website.
G. Analytics
IMC does not currently use cookies for behavioural advertising or cross-site user profiling on its own domain.
If analytics tools requiring cookies or other identifiers are introduced in the future, they will not be activated before the required consent has been obtained.
Certain audience measurement technologies may, in limited circumstances, qualify for an exemption from consent where they meet the conditions imposed by applicable law.
This Cookie Policy will be updated if the analytics technologies used by IMC change.
H. Advertising and profiling
IMC does not currently use cookies for personalised advertising.
We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of visitors across unrelated websites.
If this changes in the future, any cookies or trackers requiring consent will be subject to the appropriate consent mechanism before being activated.
I. Third-party services
Some IMC functions may interact with external services.
When you voluntarily use or connect such a service, that provider may process information according to its own privacy and cookie policies.
Stripe
Payments and paid subscriptions may be processed using Stripe.
Depending on the payment process, you may be redirected to or interact with pages operated by Stripe.
Stripe may use its own cookies and security technologies on its services for purposes including payment processing, fraud prevention and security.
Cookies placed directly by Stripe on Stripe-operated services are governed by Stripe's own policies.
IMC does not use Stripe cookies for advertising purposes.
Instagram and Meta
Certain IMC tools may allow users to connect an Instagram or Meta account.
A connection to these services occurs only when the user actively chooses to use the relevant feature.
Meta may use its own cookies or authentication technologies on pages and services operated by Meta.
IMC does not control cookies placed directly on Meta-operated websites.
External media and websites
IMC may contain links or embedded content from third-party platforms, artist websites, social networks, music services or video platforms.
If third-party content is embedded directly into an IMC page, the external provider may use cookies or similar technologies.
Where such technologies require consent, IMC will take reasonable steps to prevent them from loading before the required consent has been obtained.
Simply following a link to another website means that the privacy and cookie rules of that external website apply once you leave IMC.
J. Payment information
Cookies used by payment providers for payment authentication, fraud prevention or transaction security may be necessary to complete a transaction requested by the user.
IMC does not use payment-related cookies to build advertising profiles.
Payment card details are processed by the relevant payment provider and are not intended to be stored directly by IMC.
K. Browser controls
Most web browsers allow users to view, delete or block cookies.
You can normally change these settings through the privacy or security section of your browser.
Blocking all cookies may prevent some IMC functions from working correctly, particularly account login, authentication and other services requiring a session.
Browser settings operate independently from IMC's own cookie consent controls.
L. Duration of cookies
The lifetime of a cookie depends on its purpose.
Session cookies normally expire when the relevant browser session ends or when you log out.
Persistent authentication cookies may remain for a longer period where you have asked the website to remember your login.
IMC-specific administrative preview cookies currently expire after approximately four hours.
Where optional cookies are introduced, their duration will be limited to what is reasonably necessary for their stated purpose and will be documented where appropriate.
M. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when:
the technologies used by IMC change;
new services or integrations are introduced;
cookies are added, removed or changed;
or legal requirements change.
The latest version will always be available on this page, together with its most recent update date.
Where a significant change affects cookies or trackers that require consent, users may be asked to make a new choice.
