Follow Abel Hawnt
Follow Luke Beling
I have to admit, when I received this submission through my form, my first thought was, “Oh no, Abel, you’re cheating! You’re trying to make me relive one of my best memories.” But as I scrolled through the different fields, I realized it wasn’t quite a copy-paste job.
You see, Abel Hawnt released Lake Louise back in 2020, and I vividly remember listening to that acoustic ballad during lockdown. Probably the best time to enjoy this little indie-folk gem, which invites you to sit by a campfire and, more importantly, invite someone special to join you. Yeah, I thought that was the perfect moment… until now.
Because guess what? This gem now has a new version—re-recorded, with a much more polished production, and featuring a special guest who just so happens to be one of my all-time favorite indie artists: Luke Beling. Honestly, you couldn’t dream of a better companion to sing about nature getaways than Luke’s incredibly warm voice, blending perfectly with Abel’s in the final part of the track.
Each takes a verse and a chorus, then they finish it off together. The song builds in intensity as it goes, and let me tell you, Lake Louise is the track you absolutely need with you when you’re out traveling or just strolling through nature near home. And forget about streaming—if you don’t have mobile signal, throw this song on a USB drive, a CD, a cassette, heck, even a floppy disk if you have to! But don’t ever be without it, because it’s hands-down the perfect soundtrack for any walk.
Nature lovers, share this with your fellow indie music fans. Indie music fans, share it with your fellow nature lovers. You’ll see that together, they make one big family—a family we’re proud to call our community. Real people, with real stories to tell, and ones that touch us all in one way or another. When two of the best artists in the indie scene come together on a track as wonderful as this, there’s nothing left to do but tip your hat in admiration.
