Follow Vintz Desert
Yes, it’s true. In this article, we’re breaking a couple of rules. The first one being that we always bring you fresh content. Well, we kind of messed up this time, the song is 45 years old. Yep, for once, we’ve found something older than us, and we’re loving it! The second principle is to avoid covers. And yes, this is a cover. But when it’s done this beautifully, we really can’t resist.
This is how ‘Redemption Song,’ the iconic Bob Marley classic that’s been covered countless times, ended up on IMC thanks to the boundless talent of Vintz Desert. And this is how the artist, whom we discovered in 2021, earns his fourth feature on Indie Music Center and is on the doorstep of the IMC Family (yes, the next feature will be his golden ticket).
What has always charmed us about Vintz Desert is, first and foremost, the warmth in his voice. There’s something unique about it, something that conveys powerful emotions with surprisingly little effort. He doesn’t push his voice, doesn’t force anything, doesn’t belt out power. No, he stays calm and grounded. And the connection flows, along with the emotions. He has the ability to give you chills.
With this cover of ‘Redemption Song,’ Vintz Desert really delivers, because we can barely recognize the original. He truly made it his own. And honestly, if we hadn’t told you it was a cover, would you have noticed? It’s a bit too old to speak to the younger generation but not old enough to be forgotten by the older folks like us. This classic still speaks to us in 2025. And thanks to Vintz Desert, it’s having a second life, unexpected but well-deserved.
We’re not going to dissect the lyrics here because, honestly, who are we to judge the writing of a legend like Bob Marley? Let’s just leave it at sharing this little gem with you, one that will captivate fans of real emotions. And if you love getting chills, this song might just do something to you.
