Follow Surf Rock Is Dead
If you’re starting to get fed up with the cold and winter, this might just warm you up.
It feels a bit like summer when you hear the very bright and colorful sounds offered by Surf Rock Is Dead (abbreviated SRID, it’s simpler), a duo from Brooklyn.
As the group explains best, “Diabolik” evoked “Extreme situations we encountered while living with various people in New York. Sometimes you just never know what you’re going to get… Whether it’s a roommate sleeping on the bathroom floor, a pile of who-knows-what on the living room floor, or strangers showing up in YOUR bedroom, sometimes life isn’t exactly how you imagined it. Pretty funny.“.
Driven by nostalgic guitar sounds, and a universe seemingly straight out of the 80s, the duo relies on the freshness of their danceable melody.
Because from the very first notes, you’re going to start nodding your head; it’s inevitable, actually.
With meticulously crafted vocals and choirs, it feels like listening to George Michael on springs. And we love the idea.
An indie-pop gem to be found in Our Spotify playlist for January 2020.
