Our thoughts about the song :
It's been three months since we heard from Scott Boyd, with "Restless Heart". And honestly. We missed him! Even though we've been connected to Australia recently, thanks to Glass Towers on Friday and Andy Martin two weeks ago! It seems like this country has a lot to offer to the indie music world, and that's a pretty good thing. Last time, we mentioned his little Ed Sheeran side in the vocals. This resemblance diminishes in this new track, showing people that Scott really has his own musical universe. Totally different from the last single, Scott offers us a wonderful ballad, with a girl hidden in the choruses vocal harmonies. If you ever lost someone you love, you may relate easily to this song. We really enjoyed the heartfelt lyrics: "I miss you nearly every single day, but the time has come to turn the page". And the soulful vocal harmonies, quite discreet but really beautiful, helped the song to build slowly. The guitar solo bridge is magnificent and the final chorus is a real delight. Another gem by Scott Boyd. Included in our "Indie Folk Gems" playlist. You can find this playlist on : Spotify / Soundcloud / Youtube
Scott Boyd's point of view :
It's an emotional indie/folk/pop song written about the pain of losing someone close to you, and the emotions and experiences that come with it. The song is a reminder that although life without them is tough and sometimes the days can be difficult, they would want you to keep their memories alive in your heart and move forward with your life.
