Sarpa Salpa - Somebody

January 18, 2022

Sarpa Salpa joins the IMC Family with their new single "Somebody". After five other successful features, they're now going to join the magic clan that spawns collabs and allows artists to exchange tips. It's done! Once again, Sarpa Salpa, reach for the stars with their new single "Somebody", probably their catchiest single ever!

Since 2019, the band continues to amaze us with the quality of its danceable and festive tracks! Remember their previous songs, "Before It Goes Dark", "Say Something", "Forwards Backwards", "Another Life", the kind of songs that keep you singing all day long if you listen to our radio station regularly.

"Somebody" is no exception to the rule: the Northampton quartet continues to amaze us with a frenzied melody, carried by the incredible and recognizable voice of Marcus. There is often in Sarpa Salpa a striking contrast between the melody and the lyrics. Their songs deal with various themes, often with a rather dark writing and an omnipresent melancholy, which contrasts with a luminous and playful melody. This is all the power of Sarpa Salpa, mixing emotions, influences, and the result is incredible: a unique sound.

At IMC, we love this feeling when we see that a new Sarpa Salpa single is available: and even before listening to it, we tell ourselves "Yes, another banger!". We click play, and it's quickly confirmed. The level of professionalism of these four friends is so high. They know what they're doing, they know where they want to go, and they never get discouraged. And this measured desire to reach for the stars smiles on them: the British already have dates in the US in 2022, and you will have the pleasure of seeing them live in Bristol (Louisiana) on February 28, or in Austin (Texas) for the SXSW where they will share the poster with prestigious artists.

"Somebody" brings together all the usual elements of a wonderful Sarpa Salpa indie-pop track: a bouncing bass line, fabulous guitar sounds, and still Marcus' controlled vocals (even in the highest notes) that give the band this unique identity. It is often said that a band's voice makes its identity. This is true for Coldplay, Stereophonics, or Kings of Leon. For Sarpa Salpa, I think the voice is not everything. They really have a unique sound. It is no coincidence that many radio stations, including the BBC, fell in love with their colorful and surprising musical universe.

Little by little, their counters are racing, and they have exceeded one million cumulative streams on Spotify. Which doesn't surprise me, to be honest. But with such quality, I really expect more. So, guys, please support this band and help us make them famous, they deserve it!

For 3 years now, Sarpa Salpa have been delighting our listeners and readers with their unique combination of pop and rock. And that's just the beginning. Their entry into the IMC Family will allow you to hear them even more often on our radio station. They are one of those artists for whom we can't wait to be able to travel again. Because seeing them live must be extremely energizing, and we're looking forward to enjoying this experience for real.

Reach out to Sarpa Salpa
