The song was written when Okay Mann’s traveled to France, to Chamonix to be exact.

During that trip, he broke up with his girlfriend, and they decided to continue their journey anyway, but as friends.

“So instead, I look at the mountains,” he says. Somewhat confused and mixed feelings, that is exactly what the song perfectly captures.
