From the very first seconds, there’s something magical about Mason Ashley. A voice that leaves no one indifferent. The atmosphere is established immediately, with just a synth pad that takes us into his world, slowly but surely.
Until the percussion kicks in, revealing a slightly higher-pitched voice, but still just as comfortable. The chorus, poised on a unique rhythmic thread, leaves us hanging on its every word (no pun intended regarding the video, of course, we’re not like that, come on), eager to hear what comes next.
The lyrics are touching: “I know you told me, if I have to dance without you then I’ll be left standing all alone, I know you won’t answer so I wrote this. It’s everything I’ve ever said to you, that you’re hearing now.” Simply beautiful.
After the bridge, a beautiful ending, just the way we like them, where all the instruments come together, and Mason Ashley’s voice leaves us on a positive note, ready to face a new day. One of those rare songs that makes you want to listen to it a second time as soon as the first listen is over.
