Marly Kay’s warm voice welcomes us with open arms into her world. She says she wrote this song alone on her kitchen floor at 2 a.m. It’s quite an original way to make music, and we hope she’ll go back to sitting in her kitchen regularly, because we loved it.
She grew up in a predominantly male environment, and devoted most of her time to sports, but less than to the arts, and even less to the piano, for which she has an “extreme passion”, as the New Yorker herself so aptly puts it.
The voice is simple, not over the top, just enough to make us have a good time.
