Part scandal-finder for the press, and part musician (which is original), the artist manages to combine his two passions and have fun.
And it’s a success.
Believe it or not, even though it’s hard to believe, “Curb Appeal” is his very first single.
And for a first single, it’s very well done and sounds very professional.
A very bright, danceable, almost joyful indie-pop sound, even though it’s… a breakup song.
But why always feel sorry for oneself during such an event?
On the contrary, all that is needed is to celebrate it, and to feel freedom returning once again.
Like an anthem to resurrection and newfound freedom, “Curb Appeal” stands out for its amazing blend of electric guitars and piano.
Everything in this piece has been carefully thought out, down to the very discreet little guitar riffs in the verses, slipped in like that, between two lines.
There is a very strong emotional side to this song, carried by a beautiful energy.
A beautiful crescendo construction, and as crazy as it may seem, at the end of this breakup song: you’re going to dance.
