It is sometimes good to dwell on the past, to reflect on the good times and the bad times, and to realize that one has grown up. And that we opened up our eyes "just a little more", as Jake Huffman sings in his new single. When the horizon seems clearer, we can only feel better.
This song will speak to you if you enjoyed your youth well and now relish a less risky and more reasonable life. Jake's talent is indisputable, and on all levels, since he has done everything: "I played, recorded, and produced every note. Lyrically I wrote about what I knew; the story of my early 20's and the fall of my first love, my band."
On our side, we especially loved the very catchy melody and the huge hook of the chorus. The writing is superb and offers a lucid look at the past. With it must be admitted, a little melancholy.
Jake's voice reminds me of those unforgettable rock songs from the 2000s, and especially Tom DeLonge, who marked the decade with his bands Blink-182 and Angels & Airwaves. A little taste of nostalgia that fans of beautiful melodies will appreciate.
