Her Majesty – Long Walk

Wow! It’s been a week of surprises. We’ve made some amazing discoveries here at Indie Music Center! What a pleasure to share them with you, especially since we celebrated 16 years online yesterday. And we’re never short of surprises.

The band we’re featuring today is Her Majesty. To be honest, we don’t know much about them because we haven’t received any links other than their SoundCloud. We just know they’re from Norway, and as usual with Scandinavian countries, we’re never disappointed.

The track begins very gently, with just a subtle guitar riff in the background and a voice reminiscent of the greatest folk or rock bands. The rhythm really kicks in around 1:56, and then it’s a relentless build-up to the final explosion. This is post-rock territory. A unique genre that delivers a torrent of emotions with a carefully crafted melody and an extraordinary voice. We’re there.

At 3:34, you think you’ve reached the peak. But no. The singer’s powerful and unparalleled voice hits you again, leading to the fateful moment: the one where you get goosebumps and arm hair stands on end. That’s what you call a chill. Perfectly embodying the Indie Music Center concept.

Didn’t feel anything? Listen again with headphones, with the volume all the way up. So?
