Galapaghost – Jim Beam

[ENGLISH VERSION BELOW]

Galapaghost is the solo project of Casey Chandler, who comes to us from Woodstock.

He has already released 3 albums, two of which are on an Italian label, and a self-produced album in 2016 which has already received more than 1.5 million streams on Spotify!

He recently completed his fourth album, titled “Pulse”. He recorded it in Italy, and it will be available on January 12th.

“Jim Beam” is the second single from this new album, about which Casey spoke to Music For Your Heart.

“I wrote this song pretty quickly. In one afternoon, the guitar part and all the vocals, which is usually how all my songs are written. In one day. So, after recording the guitar and vocals, I really wanted to create a song with a lot of layers to create a very atmospheric and euphoric vibe. I wanted to create a musical mood for that blissful state of being intoxicated by love with someone. The kind of floating feeling you get when you’re in love. Because being in love is a kind of drug, isn’t it? You can get hooked just like you can get hooked on a bottle of Jim Beam. It can make a person completely irrational and make them do things they would never normally do. When you’re in love, especially at the beginning, you see everything differently, and sometimes you can’t think straight. The weight of the world doesn’t seem so heavy anymore..”

That’s why Music For Your Heart exists. Because behind every artist there’s a human being, and behind every song there’s a story.

What we really loved was precisely that very particular voice, which takes us into its own universe, and the presence of the piano.

The piano can make all the difference in a song. Especially when the notes are well placed.

There’s a particular atmosphere in this song. It’s a world of uncertainty, but one to which we easily become attached.

A real pleasure to listen to. Only one drawback: it’s too short.

One of our favorites of the year.

Available on Spotify, Soundcloud, And iTunes.
