The music world sometimes has boundaries that are difficult to explain.

We talked about it in September in an article on the musical borders of France (if you are English speakers, feel free to take a look).

Indeed, there is no doubt that Johnny Hallyday or Jacques Dutronc are completely unknown in the USA. We’ve already discussed this.

And it must be acknowledged that the opposite is just as possible.

Dez Money is none other than the son of Eddy Money, an undisputed Rock star in the United States from the 70s to the 90s, and whose name evokes no memory in France.

And that’s a real shame, because when you know this family, you know there’s much more than just talent behind it.

Dez Money is therefore continuing the family tradition, following the death of his father last September.

The young man came to see us with two songs and it was impossible for us to choose, as both tracks have their place on Indie Music Center.

We start with “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”, but don’t go imagining that this is the great disco classic we all know.

After an intro full of mystery and suspense, we discover a lovely voice, which settles delicately, before beginning a first verse interspersed with piano.

And when Dez Money’s voice rises in the chorus, we understand that we are dealing with a professional, who perfectly masters his vocal instrument, and in all tones.

A catchy chorus, with an attractive melody, where each note is very intelligently positioned.

The artist leaves nothing to chance.

The song continues to grow quietly, up to an incredible bridge with beautiful vocal flights, then a final chorus punctuated by divine vocal harmonies.

Although the “more than 4 minutes” format is not very popular these days, the 4 minutes don’t seem to pass.

But the artist has plenty of good things to offer us, and we’re not going to stop there.

Here is “I Want Your Love”.

Another rather mysterious intro.

But this time, it is not the piano, but the acoustic guitar that dominates the first verse, aided by a violin delicately placed in the background.

Then the rhythm rolls and rolls, gradually building up to a chorus that is finally very logical and as expected: full of colors, energy, and good auditory sensations.

A melody like every artist dreams of creating. One of those melodies you never forget, and that stays in your head for hours.

The acoustic guitar gives way to the electric guitar for the second verse, and here at last is the piano that we had lost.

By the time the second chorus starts, you’re already singing along. We warned you: the melody is addictive.

After some backing vocals and a beautiful guitar solo for the bridge, the final chorus lives up to its promise and leaves us wanting to go back.

With a very large community on social media, there is no doubt that Dez Money is following in the footsteps of his late father, and that we will hear about him in 2020.

Her music is crossing borders, leaving the United States. Here it is in France. Now it’s up to you to spread the word!
