Canyon City – Shadows

[English version below*]

Canyon City’s “Shadows” is like a slap in the face. But the kind that feels good. With a simple, unassuming acoustic guitar and a cool vocal performance at the beginning, you might expect a bland acoustic ballad. But you’d be wrong. The chorus immediately sets the tone: this song is going to tug at your heartstrings. Paul’s soaring vocals are simply divine. The instrumental finale reminds us that music, on its own, sometimes even without vocals, is enough to evoke divine auditory sensations and a feeling of intense well-being when it’s done right. This is certainly the case with Canyon City, Paul Johnson’s alter ego, which has already racked up nearly 34 million streams on Spotify (proof that we’re not the only ones who love it!). Paul did everything on his LP, in his home studio: a real band and a full technical crew all by himself. He’s a music professional who has composed music for television shows, film trailers, and more. Deeply committed to his work, Paul is a perfectionist: it shows in “Shadows.” Nothing is left to chance. Everything is meticulously planned. As everyone knows, to achieve quality work, nothing beats being meticulous. A pure success. PS: A little listening tip: in the car, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Available on Spotify, iTunes, And Soundcloud.
