Here is a young man who has left us perplexed. It’s impossible to define his world. Absolutely impossible to categorize him, or to try to label him. Angus Powell is truly a unique artist, in his own right, and unlike anyone else.
“Truth” begins with a long and mysterious intro, during which we have time to ask ourselves many questions, such as: “what are we going to get?” or “hey, it has a slightly mystical side, am I wrong?”… Or even “will the voice live up to the beauty of the intro?”.
0:50. The voice arrives. Surprise. Damn, we weren’t expecting a voice like that. We check the bio, just to be sure. We don’t want to look like idiots. Bio verified, it’s definitely a man. So it’s all the more incredible…
Everything blends together perfectly, right up until the 2:00 mark, where a rhythm kicks in. The song gradually gains depth and intensity, with vocal harmonies that are both subtle and flawless, and an electric guitar that effortlessly makes its entrance.
