Warning! High emotional potential. “Shipwrecked Souls” by Daniel Heffinton is a very powerful track. The first chorus will make that clear right away! And the final chorus allows us to achieve our goal when we visit Music For Your Heart: to get chills down our spines. Bingo. There they are. It’s a song written from the heart, and based on the artist’s own experiences, as he told us:I wrote this song at a time when I knew several people close to me were facing some pretty serious issues. I was also dealing with my own anxieties and fears, and it was like a storm. In tough times, you can’t always find the right words. Sometimes we just need the reminder that friends and family are there for us, and that they know what it’s like to struggle too. Our personal storms can make us feel alone and adrift on crashing waves. But we’re all in this together, and there is hope. Everyone has dark times. Everyone has their own shipwrecks.“On the career side, the story of Daniel is quite classic. Like many musicians, music came into his life very early:My parents were both classically trained musicians, and I grew up in rehearsal rooms. I think music was somewhat inevitable for me. I sang in a choir at a young age, but I never really found my place in music until I got a guitar when I was 15. Before that, I’d promised myself I’d never play guitar because it was such a cliché, like, you’re 15, you’re a teenager, you play guitar. But eventually, I learned a few chords, and I fell in love. I started putting music to songs I’d secretly written in my head for years and began sharing them with my loved ones. I started playing my first gigs with a band when I was 18. I’ve had the opportunity to play for crowds of all sizes, and I was able to record my first EP with Jason Mraz’s producers last year after my small fanbase fully funded a Kickstarter campaign for the project.“Yes, dear readers, you can’t imagine how important fan support is for an artist. Fans are the greatest gift an artist can receive. And I hope we’ll give him more of that in France, and why not in Europe! Available in our playlists.”Indie Rock” And “Happy“on Spotify.
