We may have already told you this, but at Indie Music Center, we don’t really like it when things drag on.
For example, ten-minute pieces have no chance of passing the ruthless pre-sorting barrier.
Usually, after 4 minutes, we give up. But this!
We found that 4 minutes 10 seconds was too short!
Sailing Stones is a wonderful artist who comes to us from Bristol, in the United Kingdom.
She is preparing an album called “Polymnia”, which will be released in 2020. Here is the first excerpt.
Fragile yet incredibly powerful. A musical genre that defies definition.
Pop? Folk? Neither. And besides, we don’t like to label things.
Sailing Stones simply does what Sailing Stones does. That’s all!
A young woman who has managed to create a musical avatar, a colorful character and above all, a very strong musical identity.
A very gentle musical universe, quite dark and above all very delicate and meticulously crafted.
The voice brought us a touch of nostalgia, as it managed to convey the same emotions as that of the late Amy Winehouse.
But with a more modern production quality, and a slightly more sophisticated and less commercial writing style.
The start may seem long, since there are no percussions during the first minute.
But then… Wow.
Basically, the sung text stops at 2:28. After that, it’s just a bonus.
Not a small bonus. A big bonus of auditory pleasure and enjoyable sensations.
Incredible vocal flights, combined with an intoxicating electric guitar, and we are plunged into the artist’s incredible universe.
We let ourselves drift along like that for almost 2 minutes, without really knowing when it will stop.
And actually, we don’t care.
Because it could last 7 minutes, it wouldn’t matter, it’s so pleasant.
What a voice. Sometimes very emotional, and very heartbreaking.
In fact, the song ends with this incredible voice.
Leaving us speechless.
Wow! I can’t wait for the album!
