It becomes very complicated for us to keep track of all the Scandinavian artists we feature, there are so many of them. I don't know what's going on in Norway and Sweden, but there seems to be a nest of talented musicians.
And today, IMC is settling down in Sweden to introduce you to Mats Dernánd. The artist released a track yesterday that is one of the catchiest we've heard this year: "We'll Be Together". The song is a pure indie-folk anthem, filled with positivism and happiness. Isn't that what the world needs right now?
A song that would almost make us forget the horrible things that happen here, at the gates of Europe. We have just gone through two very complicated years, where a lot of people have been separated. We learned to live in isolation or to meet people through a screen. So this song is there as if to celebrate our regained freedom.
Rock the banjo! Stand-up and dance! Mats has created a joyful masterpiece here. And he was helped by... Luna Keller. Yes, our writer/radio presenter/member of the IMC Family is everywhere. But she's just wherever we need her and she is never against participating in a collab that takes her out of her comfort zone. Because we had never heard Luna in this register before. And Mats either, for that matter. If you listen to his previous releases, you will notice that Mats evolves in a rather melancholy musical universe, sometimes instrumental, and this new single is like a new beginning. Or the opening of a new chapter in his musical career. And it's the same for Luna. What a pleasure, four years after her first feature on IMC, to see her having fun in everything she does. She is in the right place!
The little touch of originality of this song? The very end. Naturalness is something that must be highlighted. And Mats made the choice to keep this part of the recording that other artists would have put in the trash.
