Have you ever found yourself in a dead-end? As if, whatever you do, you know you're going to suffer, anyway. So you have to choose which will be the least hurtful bread. It's pretty sadistic when you think about it. But it happens a lot more often than you think. This is precisely the subject of this song.

Sometimes I also doubt. About ten days ago, I was ready to close the platform at the threat of my banker because I am "too passionate". But I realized that shutting down Indie Music Center would cause me much more pain than continuing it. And thank God, I'm still here!

I would have regretted it a lot because when I hear jewelry like "Floating", Lizzy King's new single, I deeply feel all those emotional vibes I've worked hard for all these years.

The artist realized her dilemma when she was ... in the shower. And the song was born quickly, as obvious, as Lizzy tells us, from LA: "While the process took years, writing the song poured out in less than twenty minutes on my out-of-tune piano, as my roommate sat nearby and cross-stitched. "

Quite an incredible story, it's true, but one that I've heard many times over the years, feature after feature. The biggest hits in the world are those that were written quickly on the corner of the table. And a lot of my artists have been there. Realizing that there was no need to spend months writing a masterpiece.

Because yes, for "Floating", we can speak of a masterpiece, which lays bare all the sensitivity of Lizzy King, where her doubts fight her fears, in rare poetry and delicacy.

The rather dark atmosphere suggests a halo of light and a glimmer of hope. The last part of the song, after the bridge, is not the chorus. Just a free expression of the artist, who lets herself go and finishes convincing us. Even if, we must admit, we were convinced from the first seconds.

Sorry gentlemen, but I think our female artists will always have that little bit extra on the emotional side. This rare sensitivity belongs to them.

Added to our Main Spotify Playlist, our "Feeling Lost" playlist, and played daily on Indie Music Center's Radio.

Lyrics

The shower held me floating like a rock into the bottom

And I couldn’t go on smiling

Can’t go on, I can’t go on, can’t go

Dad, you don’t understand

I’m a naked girl with issues

Standing sobbing in the shower

Cant go on, I can’t go on

But there will be blood either way

Whether I show up or choose to fade

Don’t leave me sinking leave me sinking leave me sinking

I warned her I’m on the edge

She didn’t mean to push me

now I’m sinking down I’m sinking down I’m sinking down

I made you late to work again I cried under your covers

I pushed you out of your own bed I didn’t want to be a burden

How could you see me like this?

How could you see me sinking down, sinking down sinking down

There will be blood either way

Whether I show up or choose to fade

Don’t leave me sinking leave me sinking leave me sinking

I warned her I’m on the edge

She didn’t mean to push me

now I’m sinking down I’m sinking down I’m sinking down

I’m sinking down

Made a choice three months ago to choose the pain that goes with staying

I guess this is what I signed

Seeing fear’s face when I showed mine

Crying in my boyfriends bed

Knowing that I can’t go back

I’m floating up I’m floating up I’m floating up

I’m floating up I’m floating up

I’m floating up I’m floating up

I’m floating up I’m floating up

I’m floating up I’m floating up

I’m floating up I’m floating up

I’m floating up I’m floating up

I’m floating

I’m floating

I’m floating
