Josh Savage is a Berlin-based artist. Originally from the UK, the young man has impressive scores, already having more than 6 million streams on Spotify.
His latest single "Young Fools" was released on April 2nd via Savage Tribe Records / Believe, but we wanted to wait a bit before bringing it to you, because the music video is really well done, and is out today.
The artist has travel in his blood. After living 12 years in Paris (it's a shame, we just missed each other), and played more than 700 shows on 4 continents, he is now in Berlin where his career is seriously starting to take off.
"Young Fools" comes from the fact that the artist really never took a close interest in romantic relationships, as young people his age could, and even laughed at them, thinking they were too cheesy and cliché:
"When I first set out writing songs, I promised myself never to have the word“ love ”in them. I felt songs that did were cheesy and cliché. I was so dedicated to my art that I was single for nine years, it's hard to build sparks into a meaningful flame when you are in another city the next day. I had seen the world playing hundreds of shows and made unforgettable memories, but I had nobody to share them with. I would look at couples my age and see fools wasting their youth away, naive in their mushy love bubble that I just couldn’t understand. But I started to wonder - am I the fool? And then I met someone - in Paris of all places. We handwrote letters to each other, sent them across the ocean, and met all over the world. I finally understood ‘love’ and hard as I tried, could not find a replacement, no other word did it justice so I caved in and broke my own rules.”
In a way, he's right. We can say that 90% of today's songs are about ... love. "Young Fools" offers a different and refreshing take on things.
On a very catchy melody, Josh Savage extends all his writing talent, he is a true genius of words. The production has nothing to envy to the greatest pop titles, everything is perfect in this track. Josh's voice is also amazing and comfortable in any key. He has a rather ... disconcerting vocal ease.
This is the first single from his album "Another Life", coming this year. And if you don't have enough, wait a few more weeks: a new single is due out in mid-May. We can't wait to hear the rest!
