Jenny Kern - Run

March 05, 2021

Barely two months after "Coming Back for Me", our favorite Canadian is back.

Jenny Kern is on her 4th stint at Indie Music Center, and it won't be her last, we're sure. Moreover, you now know the rule, one more passage and Jenny will enter the closed circle of "IMC Certified Artists". An artist that we introduced you to in October 2019, with her first eponymous EP. And since then, she has come a long way! Her number of fans continues to grow, and we can only rejoice. We even saw one of our "IMC Certified Artists" cover one of her songs on social media. Remember when The Satellite Station covered "Slow Burn" last August.

Jenny made the bet to work with producer Andy Seltzer (Maggie Rogers, Chelsea Cutler, Valley) and it's a won bet. A new breath for the young woman who signs, with "Run", a new masterpiece. Even more intimate than her previous songs, "Run" explores all the facets of a relationship where you don't feel very comfortable. Ah, self-confidence, a hell of a problem, eh?

"I don't want to lose you, we've only just begun", she sings, a little lost, in the chorus.

Always with a soft and somewhat shy vocal performance, but so sincere, Jenny amazes us with the number of emotions that she can convey through her voice in just a few seconds. No huge vocal demonstrations, Jenny is not a diva. And so much the better!

Another gem to add to her repertoire, and we can't wait to know what she has in store for us next.

And besides, good news. The flowers are starting to bloom, and Jenny is preparing a new EP for Spring.

Included in our "Indie Pop" playlist, and of course, you will now hear this amazing track on the Indie Music Radio.

More about Jenny

A Canadian-born Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter with a dreamy indie-pop sound, Jenny Kern’s magnetic vocal style, and emotive lyricism gained global attention in 2019 after the release of her debut single “Slow Burn”. She was immediately invited on her first international tour in Europe and featured on MTV, ABC and the CW. Jenny continues to release new music this year, with producer Andy Seltzer (Maggie Rogers, Chelsea Cutler, Valley, and more). "Run" is the amazing result of their collaboration.
