A Choir of Ghosts - Skin & Bones

November 20, 2020

We already featured A Choir of Ghosts last year, with 'An Ounce of Gold'. And we were waiting for new material. Here it comes! With a wonderful music video, one of our favorite Swedish artists comes back with a wonderful indie folk track, out last Friday. And it's a perfect song for your Sunday. James Augers' voice is really unique and totally captivating. It is a voice that inspires us with confidence. And the chorus is so catchy that we are surprised to sing along before the end. About the production? It is very simple, but so effective! Why bother with tons of instruments, when an electric guitar has such an effect on us ?! In short, another wonderful song to relax your mind and get away from it all, for a few minutes. Included in our "Indie Folk" playlist, and of course, you will now hear this amazing track on the Indie Music Radio.

The artist's point of view :

The song is about the realization that you can’t always “fix it” for the people you love. Sometimes they have to solve it themselves, and you can’t do anything but watch and hope for the best. In order for things to grow to it’s full potential, you sometimes have to let go. It’s a hard realization but I think a lot of people can identify with the feeling of sudden emptiness, when you come to something in your way that you cannot share, but rather have to go about alone. Your only hope lays in that once the obstacle has been passed, you can rendez vous on the other side.

Biography :

We need to make our way through the deep, thick, Scandinavian forest, into the wilderness until we reach A Choir Of Ghosts, fingerpicking the guitar to folksy vigorous tunes to long for. The front person James Augers’ musical foundation: the soil, is through the reminiscence of Kurt Cobain, topped with the water, sun and air of The Tallest Man On Earth and Hollow Coves, making ACOG give you a feeling of all shades of nostalgia.
