Dom Malin’s Story
Dom Malin is one of those artists who doesn’t need to shout to get your attention. He’s naturally reserved, but give him a guitar and a song to write and suddenly there’s a lot to say.
His music moves somewhere between folk, indie and singer-songwriter, with a real focus on storytelling. That’s probably what I like most about his songs. They often start from something personal, sometimes uncomfortable, but never feel overdramatic. He just tells the story, and somehow you end up finding a little bit of your own life in it.
You can hear influences from artists like Ben Howard, John Mayer, Father John Misty or Jack Garratt, especially in the guitar work and the way he builds a song. But the more you listen to Dom, the less those comparisons matter. He has his own way of writing, his own voice, and a much bigger presence on stage than his quiet personality might suggest.
