An Early Bird’s Story
With a voice that carries both fragility and strength, An Early Bird (this is the moniker of the singer-songwriter Stefano De Stefano) tells stories of longing, resilience and connection that linger long after the last note.
Born in Naples, Italy, the artist developed his musical identity with his first band, Pipers. Highlights of their career include an album recorded in Wolverhampton with Gavin Monaghan (Editors, Ocean Colour Scene, The Sherlocks) and support slots for The Charlatans, Ian Brown, Turin Brakes and Ocean Colour Scene.
After going solo, An Early Bird built a prolific catalogue releasing seven albums that explore a field where indie, folk and pop meet. He also performed extensively across Europe, from intimate clubs to major stages, joining artists like Starsailor, Fink, Wallis Bird, Amistat, S. Carey, Stu Larsen, Jake Bugg, Alec Benjamin, The Handsome Family, Turin Brakes, David Keenan, Grant-Lee Phillips and Joshua Radin.
Since early 2026, the artist has been working on new music that marks a bold evolution from the indie folk sound of previous releases. The new song Timeless People opened a new sonic chapter rooted in some guitar oriented indie rock.
