Sofia Dragt’s Story

My life now is split between making songs as an artist and composing for film and media. It’s all about creating new music, that’s what I still enjoy the most.
As a film composer, my work includes scoring the short crossover theater film 'The Testimony', as well as documentaries such as 'Green Musketeer', 'Grutto', and Ruben Smit's series WAD (about the Dutch Wadden Islands), which aired on Dutch and Danish national television.
As a lover of nature and Iceland, I went to Ísafjörður in the Westfjords to write my album ISA. I believe you can hear where music was born, that’s why I travel to beautiful places like that to record.
Another reason I see out theselandscapes is that it feels like I’m living in my own film, a movie playing live, only in that exact moment. And every movie needs a soundtrack. When I travel, hike or just am in nature, I always have music in my ears, to connect the music with that live film that’s playing right in front of me.
Through my releases, I share this film with you and the world. It is no longer just for my eyes, and it no longer plays just once. Now you can step into the movie whenever you listen.
