Sofia Dragt is an artist who produces pure songs, fortified by subtle classical nuances, that capture the imagination. She was born in Wageningen, the Netherlands in 1990.

According to her, music is much more than just sound. Image and atmosphere play an equally essential role.

You can imagine a whole movie in your head while listening to her songs. The tone of each song is masterfully colored by Sofia’s piano accompaniments.

She started playing piano at the age of five and wrote her first song when she was twelve.

She not only composes pop songs but also music for film. Her latest project was a documentary about Dutch nature.

In early 2018, his next album “Still Here” will be released with a four-part video as part of a musical experiment.

The song we’re featuring today is called “Lighter.” “The feeling and the idea for the song came from when I was in the mountains of Norway. Being alone, making my own choices, and not being responsible for anyone else. I feel lighter when I’m all alone, while also wondering if I would truly be indispensable, and what it would be like if I were absent. And how far would we go to discover how important we are to each other?” the artist reflects.

We largely agree with this perspective. “Lighter” is an invitation to travel, to solitude, and to self-reflection. The song simply makes us want to pack our bags and go far away. No matter where. But sometimes, you have to find yourself again. The video is very well made and will reinforce this desire to travel deep within you.

As a little bonus, we also loved “Till It’s Over”. So, here’s a treat.
