Evan Delp – Open Arms
We begin our Sunday Moments gently, with a mix of emotions. It’s often said that a breakup is a difficult time to overcome. But for artists, despite this rough patch, it often becomes a great source of inspiration, and the artistic result is frequently superior. Here’s the proof, with “Open Arms” by…Evan DelpWritten a few years ago, the song was left on the windshield of the person in question. Yes, really! The artist himself confides that “Open Arms is one of my oldest songs. Growing up, I always heard musicians say that their first heartbreak was a lyrical goldmine—that even though it hurt, it was the first event that allowed them to explore their abilities as a songwriter. I was skeptical about that, but in some ways, it was true. A few months after my first heartbreak, I recorded this song, burned it onto a CD, and left it on her car windshield one day on my way home from school.“We welcome this young boy with promising talent to France and wish him a long journey (but not too many romantic breakups, though).
