Ellajay’s Story
Ellajay, stage name of Stephanie Schecter, is an indie singer/songwriter based in Brooklyn, NY. Dubbed the “queen of hooks and melodic earworms” by Indie Top 39, she draws listeners in with her catchy, ear-candy melodies, and raw (and all too relatable) lyrics. She has a charmingly graceful voice that has been described as “captivating and comforting, airy and dreamy” by Up & Coming. Originally hailing from small town Georgia, Ellajay’s music comes together in an alt-pop, indie rock vibe, embedded with folk and rock roots, and sprinkled with a unique genre bending and blending of sounds.
