Our thoughts
We’ve been fans of Tim Halperin for years. And his new single “Let’s Just Run”, released on March 21st, is a gentle reminder that spring has finally arrived (at least in the northern hemisphere).
This Nebraska-born artist has a discography that would make any young musician jealous. Since 2007, he’s been consistently impressing us, and it was his appearance on American Idol that really brought him into the spotlight.
Tim Halperin is one of those artists who sits in a strange middle ground. Not quite famous enough for national radio play, but maybe too well-known to still be called fully independent. Somewhere in between.
And there’s a special connection here. Our founder Niko has a few things in common with Tim: they were born the same year, the same day, they’re proud dads, they live without Instagram, and they just enjoy life.
Let’s Just Run is a bit of a UFO in today’s music landscape. It takes you somewhere else. It makes you dream. It sparks that deep urge to escape. In a world drowning in negativity, this song gives you a break. It makes you forget the endless bad news that TV channels love to stack up. You close your eyes. You drift. You breathe.
Thank you, Tim.
A bit more about Tim Halperin
Years before kicking off his career as a sharp, soulful songwriter and first-rate vocalist, Tim Halperin spent countless hours by the family record player as a child, listening to classic pop, Motown, and R&B records. "I would play my mom's copy of Michael Jackson's _Off the Wall _nonstop," he remembers. "There was a lot of Stevie Wonder and the Temptations in the mix, too, as well as some James Taylor and Neil Diamond. It was this cool combination of pop smashes and blue-collar songwriters." For years, Halperin has built his audience the old-school way: by hitting the road and playing shows, banging away at his keyboard while singing songs about his own life. Halperin is taking chances… and those chances are paying off.
