Let's go to Long Island, NY to discover Rey. After an album was released last year, the artist offers us a breath of fresh air with his new single "First Love". As its title suggests, the track takes us on a journey through time. Do you remember your first love and the sensations it gave you? That racing heart, the palpitations, the constant excitement ... But are you still with this person? In most cases, the answer is no. As the artist himself puts it, loving someone doesn't mean you're going to get married, have kids, a minivan, and a drooling dog:

"In this song, I reflect on a first love years after we split up. It took a while to reach that place of clarity, but once there, I was able to see we were never right for each other - and that falling in love with someone does not always mean we're meant to be in a relationship with them."

In a decidedly bright and playful song, Rey sends us the ray of sunshine that your August was perhaps missing. The writing is simple but effective, and above all, the melody sticks to your brain so you won't let go for hours.

Sometimes I felt like I was savoring a good old Kook classic. This lightness and nonchalance in the vocals took me back a few years ago, and precisely around my first love era. Proof that the track is effective, cause it worked for me!

But Alex Cherney, who makes music under the moniker Rey, wanted to strike even harder by accompanying this single with a light and colorful music video. If you like body painting, do not hesitate to watch it below, you will love it!
