I don't want to sound cheesy but I love everything about Perry Ripley. And especially in this song.
"Uh-Huh." has everything you love about an indie-pop song. I don't know if you know the group "Hurts", if you don't you should be interested. I've loved this band for years, and in this new single from Perry Ripley, I find those ingredients that I love about Hurts: a very powerful bassline and a little electronic production that really showcases a unique voice.
By the way, Perry Ripley's vocal performance is incredibly good, and he has some similarities to Kahone Concept, one of our "IMC Certified Artists". I even think that a duet between these two would be counterproductive because we wouldn't recognize who sings what.
Ripley has created his own musical universe, and masters the writing to perfection. The song is about an altercation between two lovers and emphasizes the difference between the previous situation and the current situation, which is not very pleasant. When “Uh-huh” is all that's left to say to your lover, we can't do better than end this relationship.
Despite a rather dark theme and atmosphere, Ripley's voice brings all the light that it lacks in such cases. A real musical success and we can't wait to hear what's coming next. His EP called "COCAINE LOVE" will be released on April 26th. We're really looking forward to it!
Included in our "Indie Pop" Spotify playlist.
