Warning! Chills alert! You won't often hear an exceptional voice like that of Chavis Chance. And without a bad pun, it's a real chance he came to see me. Because I would have blamed myself for having missed it.
His writing is simply ... divine! I've always liked the piano-guitar mix, and I admit that on this new track, Chavis Chance did it perfectly. The song gradually grows to its climax at around 2:30. And the final part is delicious.
The track is about 4:20 long, which is quite long compared to very short standards formatted for radios. And honestly, 4:20, when there's such talent, is almost too short, after all.
This artist is a beginner, and yet he already sounds very professional. All he lacks is a bigger audience because he really deserves it. So, please help us to help him by sharing this review :)
Chavis Chance's point of view:
Bluebonnet Trail Elementary was actually the name of my first school, and this whole song was largely inspired by the realization that whatever good memories you might have about a place, you can’t ever really go back. One night in my first year of college I drove to that old neighborhood thinking it’d be fun to see what it looked like now and it was a surprisingly sad and empty experience. I remember thinking ‘I guess I’m grown up now.

More about Chavis Chance:
A hippie at heart that loves a fat backbeat, Chavis Chance is an American singer-songwriter from Plano, Texas currently based in Spain. Growing up the son of singer-songwriter rock ‘n roller, Dirk Hamilton, Chavis is bringing the spirit of a by-gone era to the modern pop song. Fusing a love of folk, rock, and soul with distinct attention to lyrical content, the music is at once both old and new. While the productions are undeniably modern, groove-based and thick with low-end, the songs themselves manage to retain a certain timeless quality about them. Chance carries the torch of previous generations, moving forward by looking back, as he pursues the next iteration of the modern singer-songwriter sound.
