Hello dear fellow readers. How about taking a little tour of Europe today? Well, it's true that the United Kingdom has left the European Union, but that's not a reason to deprive yourself of traveling!
James Mackenzie left his native Scotland to settle in Germany.
Change of country, change of landscape, change of language, change of culture. Moving from one country to another is an extraordinary adventure.
This is what James tells us in "Where You Are Going", an Indie-Folk masterpiece, in which there is a contrast between doubt and poetry. “Before you pack your bags and go, you'd better know where you are going”, as our artist sings in the chorus.
Sometimes we need to reset the counter. And to start all over again, elsewhere, far away. But sometimes doubt sets in. Remember, if you go away to run away from your problems, it won't work. You will take your problems with you.
In this case, James did weigh the pros and cons before leaving, and it looks like this adventure is going pretty well for him! And we are delighted. A fresh start can be a great source of inspiration for an artist. For James, it's a revelation.
The voice is perfectly mastered, the melody of the chorus is really captivating and catchy. We promise you: you will sing along.
With a simple but effective production, the song is accompanied by a magnificent music video: sublime aerial shots of the Scottish Highlands that make you want ... to settle there!
Whether visually or musically, "Where You Are Going" by James Mackenzie is a success, down to the smallest detail.
However, there must be something very attractive for our musicians in Germany: Luna Keller, singer-songwriter and also a member of our team, plans to move there soon.
We wish James good luck in his new life and we hope to hear many more jewels from his new environment. Yes, this song is pure jewelry.
And of course, it's included in our "Indie Folk" Spotify playlist.
James' point of view
This song is about moving from Scotland to Germany, taking a step into the unknown, and not being scared to try. This song was written a few years ago with my main man Chris. It's about taking a step into a new place. I felt like it was time to move to Germany and make it my new home.
