Thoughts then fights, then scars... despite her young age, North Carolina-based singer-songwriter Leah Lawson has already lived long enough to write masterpieces, and it's not the first time she indulges in a song.
"Colder" reveals how the younger generation has been forgotten for the past two (almost three) years, as Leah Lawson confides: "I was living alone in a studio apartment in a new city and I got really familiar with the feeling of isolation and loneliness. Another year ticked by and I was broke, I wasn't any closer to achieving my dreams, or having the sense of community I really longed for."
Damage that is sometimes irreversible, but which sometimes allows the most creative to bring out what is most beautiful in them. This is how "Colder" was born, after several years of a long struggle to accept the fact that a strict education in a religious environment no longer suited her. Being isolated was just the drop in the bucket.
With a precise pen, sometimes pointed but so sincere, the young artist puts her angelic voice on a hammering bass line and guitar. However, with only one problem: it's too short! The song is accompanied by a magnificent music video, where the shades of blue in the dark rub shoulders with the dazzling sun outside. You can watch it below.
What talent! Chills will invade you without you understanding what is happening. You have been warned. Leah Lawson is unquestionably one of the most beautiful revelations of this year on IMC.
