Our thoughts
There are collaborations that look good on paper. And then there are those that sound even better. Paper Dreaming is one of those.
Luna Keller and Genesis Ritchot (two artists we know well, maybe too well) decided to team up and make us feel things. Again. But together.
These two have already earned their place in what we call the “IMC Family.” Which basically means: they’re not just passing through. They’re the kind of artists you can trust with your ears closed.
So when they join forces, you press play without checking your mood. It doesn’t matter. They’ll decide it for you.
The chorus says: “Oh would you hand me the pen, I have an idea for the end”. It’s a love story told like a script, shared line by line, as if they’re building a movie while living it.
Yes, it’s a bit romantic. A bit dreamy. A bit “paper moon / handwritten feelings / late-night candlelight playlist” kind of vibe.
But dang, they nailed it.
The harmonies are pure silk. Their voices meet like two people who never had to rehearse. Like they’ve been singing together forever, but just forgot to mention it.
You can hear trust in every note. That rare kind of chemistry that can’t be faked or forced. Just felt.
The production? Of course it’s brilliant. Dominic Romano is behind the scenes, and the man doesn’t miss. Never!
The whole thing feels like a deep breath somewhere between an Irish coast and your childhood living room: warm. Intimate. Melancholic but hopeful.
The kind of song you play once and immediately play again because you weren’t ready to let it end.
It’s not a good track. It’s a good idea that turned into a great masterpiece.
And if this is what Luna and Genesis can do on one song, we’re going to need a whole album.
Luna Keller's take on "Paper Dreaming"
When Genesis asked me if I'd like to collaborate with him I was immediately on board, I've always been a fan of the lush layered folk sound he wraps his beautifully crafted songs in. I don't have many love songs in my discography, and I mostly write from personal experience so getting to dive into the story of these characters felt like a new adventure for me. I think we created a really vibrant world through words - just like the paper dreamers in the song.
Genesis Ritchot's take on "Paper Dreaming"
A few years ago, when I released my third album, Luna reached out to feature some of my songs on her podcast. We scheduled a Zoom call, and within minutes, I felt an effortless connection. I knew right away that I wanted to work with her. I had this song idea sitting around, but it wasn’t until Luna joined the project that everything clicked. Paper Dreaming was always meant to be a duet, and it’s our natural chemistry that makes the story feel so real.

A bit more about Genesis Ritchot

Lyrics
Well I'm not built for fighting dragons
And I don't have what it takes to impress any kind of princess
Well at least that's how you make me feel
Not sure if I’m waiting, but I count every hour
The sun shines on the valley, on the path to my tower
It could almost be the start of a story
I see an unbroken heart by a kiss you laid down
I see a house full of wooden furniture
With our love stamped on every corner
I see a garden with too many vegetables
Growing colors you've never seen before
And I see kids throwing a ball
Oh I see it all
Oh would you hand me the pen
I have an idea for the end
We're in the same class
Always distant but at least we’re good in math
Keep the letters unsent
I'm here paper dreaming with my pen
Would you let me draw you the scenery?
I see an unbroken heart
By a kiss you laid down
I see a house full of wooden furniture
With our love stamped on every corner
I see a garden with too many vegetables
Growing colours you've never seen before
And I see kids throwing a ball
Oh I see it all
Oh would you hand me the pen
I have an idea for the end
I see an unbroken heart
By a kiss you laid down
I see a house full of wooden furniture
With our love stamped on every corner
I see a garden with too many vegetables
Growing colors you've never seen before
And I see kids throwing a ball
Come with me we’ll have it all
Oh would you hand me the pen
Oh would you hand me the pen
Please hand me the pen
I have an idea for the end
