Dog Bones - Tornado

October 27, 2022

Dog Bones is a singer-songwriter based in Denver, Colorado. He just released his debut 5-track EP "Celeste", including this wonderful song "Colorado".

With nice metaphors and very detailed writing, Dog Bones creates an incredible atmospheric universe.

If you regularly fight your deepest anxiety and anxieties, "Tornado" is the song for you, as Dog Bones said about it: "The song focuses on my anxiety-related breathing struggles and the sort of irony of life, that even when you are at your lowest and have overcome one pain, another one can follow and torment you. The song is a metaphor for those uncontrollable aspects of life and the sadness, anger, but also, resilience that can come from it"

For the Denver artist, it happened when he entered his early 20s: "It felt hard to frame my childhood in a way that wasn’t driven by self-pity but also acknowledged the genuine unfairness I, along with others, might’ve experienced during that time."

But no matter how old you are, you'll be able to relate to this song quite easily, as life is always made of highs and lows, as Luna Keller sings.

Comparing this whirlwind of emotions to a tornado, Dog Bones offers us a folk song with well-chosen instruments, with a lot of details in the production that seduced us: the violin, the piano, the acoustic guitar, and the superb vocal harmonies.

The "Celeste" EP, is a clever mix of different genres, with beautiful electric guitars on "Garden", and a special mention goes to "Bloodstream" which is a little gem nestled in the middle of the record.

Dog Bones is a really good surprise. The quality is really high, and it's even surprising that it's a debut record. Remember his name!
