It was at the very beginning of the year that we introduced you to Brandon, who makes music under the name Becoming Young. Already at that time, we knew that this artist had enormous potential, especially on the emotional side. And it seems that we were not the only ones to be seduced, because he is now approaching 150K monthly listeners on Spotify.
The artist recently dropped a 3 track EP, called "Letting Go" and "Auburn is one of those tracks. It's true that Becoming Young sent us" Auburn ", but we think it's important to talk about the whole EP because we were completely seduced! 3 tracks, 3 gems.
And each song has its own universe and its own advantages that make it so special. "Auburn" is a perfect opener, resolutely indie-folk, with beautiful backing vocals and a rather melancholy atmosphere, evoking the feelings of disaster after a breakup. The song slowly builds up to a breathtaking climax in the final part.
While "Novocaine Dreams" benefits from a slightly more pop production on the choruses, even if the song evokes the same theme of writing: "I hope you're happy without me".
The EP ends with "Coming Back", which is the perfect conclusion, because the song evokes the newfound freedom and the lessons learned, opening the horizon to a more positive future.
Becoming Young has found his way, becoming more and more professional over time. It's always a pleasure to see our artists evolve in the right direction. Well done Brandon, you can be proud of what you've built.
Also, special mention to his sister who made the magnificent artwork.
Added to our Main Spotify Playlist, our "Without You" playlist, and played daily on Indie Music Center's Radio.

Lyrics
Fire’s watching my steps peacefully
Close my eyes ‘till I don’t feel defeat
Thunder awakes, my escape from the memories
Been numbing the pain, but it’s hard to find release
Still I hold on to this chainlink vice
It’s a slow burn in the lonesome night
I don’t want to hear your name no more
But you echo in my beaten heart
Closer
These flames are growing
Closer
Ashes falling round these broken dreams
Taking shapе of my worst enemies
Blackеn and bruised—it was you who refused me
Abusing the truth—I know how you loved to use me
Still I hold on to this chainlink vice
It’s a slow burn in the auburn light
I don’t want to hear your name no more
But you echo in my beaten heart
Closer
These flames are growing
Closer
These flames are growing
Closer
They’re burning, burning
Closer
