18-year-old singer-songwriter-guitarist Bree Rusev from Newcastle, Australia, started songwriting and performing months after picking up the guitar for the first time at age 14, with her music inspired by artists including Ben Howard and Bon Iver. Bree displays a lyrical maturity well beyond her years, with storytelling through her emotive songwriting, vivid imagery and lyrics that reflect on the world around her, along with a distinctive voice. Since entering her debut release, 'Coastline', in Triple J's Unearthed High in 2020, Bree caught the attention of the Triple J Team, with all of her released tracks to date receiving Triple J radio airplay. Bree took out first place in the 2021 prestigious International Songwriting Competition (ISC) winning the teen category with her latest song 'Goodbye'. The ISC is the world's largest songwriting competition, with over 21000 artists entering in 2021 and included Coldplay, Hozier and Tom Waits on the judging panel.
