And here is our 1000th article. This is easy to spot because our website automatically numbers our articles and shows this number in the URL. That doesn't mean 1000 featured songs. We featured a lot more than that because some of our posts contain up to 7 tracks. These dizzying numbers make me realize how lucky I am to work with so many great artists on a daily basis. I never thought I would reach this milestone one day. But here we are. And what better for our 1000th post, to invite a queen of words?
We introduced you to Julia Faulks in January with her debut single "Not Losing Sleep". And she's already back with "Pieces".
If you've lost someone recently, whether it's a romantic relationship or a member of your family, you may connect in an easy way to "Pieces". When we are missing a piece of the puzzle, or rather ... someone. If we miss someone, we don't feel complete, and that's what the song is all about.
Drawn from her own personal experience, "Pieces" is a jewel of sweetness where feelings are intertwined, between feeling lost but also keeping hope. Julia's voice, still so soft, does not make us regret our choice to present her to you again today.
Very comfortable vocally, the young artist sends us intense waves of strong emotions. Despite a somewhat dark context (whether it is the pandemic in general or an unfortunate personal experience), the song conveys a lot of hope, light, and is very uplifting. We all need lightness right now.
I mentioned last time the feeling that Julia is a "diamond in the rough". And I still have that delicious feeling. An enormous potential just waiting to blossom. And that depends on you!
Included in our "Indie Pop" Spotify playlist.
Julia is relatively new to the music industry, having vocal coaching for several years, and only this year featuring and writing lyrics on her first track alongside producer Max Romer (Drive Me Crazy), which achieved 75,000 streams in six months.
