Jesse Brady - Transformations

February 17, 2021

Rather rare in the songs we share, it's a bassline that welcomes you in "Transformations". Probably a nod to the past and to the old songs that have now become memories. It's the debut single from Jesse Brady, a talented young artist from Nashville, Tennessee. Yes, I know, the fact that an artist comes from Nashville no longer surprises you, we have several a month!

No, but what may surprise you here is Jesse's incredible maturity. As much in the writing as in the attitude. The song is about our journey through life. As we get older, things change. And time flies! A song with a lot of hindsight and personal investment.

The melody of the chorus is like a little candy that you savor slowly, and which ends up exploding and giving you goosebumps. Surprising, pretty, delicate ... Jessy Brade is an authentic and sincere young artist. Also, let's not forget to point out that music video is just ... huge. Mixing real images and animations, you will be amazed.

We loved her simplicity and naturalness. Ah! Could we say it differently? No, dare we say it. We fall for her. She warmed our hearts.

Included in our "Indie Pop" playlist, and of course, you will now hear this amazing track on the Indie Music Radio.

Jesse's point of view :

"Transformations" is my first release, and it's about the inevitability of change, even through difficult times. I created the album art and made the music video, which I've shared with you. I've been described as having quiet confidence. Music is my favorite outlet, the one that makes the most sense, and the one where I truly feel like myself.

More about Jesse :

I grew up going to a smaller school in southwest Florida, that encouraged big ideas. I was interested in questions more than answers. In order to remember everything from my address to buckling my seatbelt, I would make up songs with my mom. I enjoyed making movies for fun with my friends and performing in school plays. I learned to find beauty in mistakes with an attitude of "The show must go on!" As well as, to laugh at me whenever possible, which is very often. Always interested in art, I found that Songwriting was the only art-form that combined my three favorite things; words, music, and performing. I studied songwriting under Professor and mentor, Jodi Marr, at Belmont University, where I also studied Audio Engineering. When I was little, my Grandpa made up songs on the spot, to make me laugh, and my Grandma wrote me a lullaby. I learned at an early age about the power of music, how fun, freeing, and beautiful it can be. As a shy kid, I was able to express myself more authentically in music, than through most everyday conversations. My mom and I composed a song about the pains of homework in first grade called, “The Homework Blues.” I continued to write songs throughout my youth about unrequited love, feeling lost, dragonflies, etc… writing is my therapy. My mission is to connect with others through thought-provoking and heart-healing music.
