I have to confess something to you. We did not post on March 8, International Women's Rights Day. Quite simply because I find this day a little dishonest. Remember that women have rights once a year? Seriously? At Indie Music Center, we celebrate women all year round. And we're so happy to introduce Noralyn to you today.
Noralyn is what I call a Queen of Goosebumps. We do not have many, I admit, they must be counted on the fingers of the hand. I can for example quote Willomijn May, who bewitched me with "Just Me" last month, or POESY, who seduced me in November 2020 with "Diamonds". So you see, that doesn't happen often, and I regret it.
Noralyn has that power in her voice and that magic that are enough to bewitch you in just a few notes. When we offered her a review, we prayed every day that she would accept. But no matter what, we couldn't have made you miss this word magician.
Our artist from Brisbane, Australia, already has a few years of career behind her, and several musical gems that you will find on her Spotify.
"Education" is the first single from his next album. And for a first extract, we must admit: we ended up on our knees. His voice appears after only 3 or 4 seconds, and already at that moment, we are bewitched.
Noralyn is at ease vocally, even with the highest notes. And when the chorus comes: there we are. Our arm hairs stand upright. Incredible power invades us. We have the impression that our feet are leaving the ground. The melody is beautiful and the feel is delicate. This is all the magic of Noralyn: the contrast between softness and power.
"Education", as the title may indicate, talks about learning. We all need to learn from our mistakes to move forward and get through the worst situations. The current global context is difficult. And this song is a real motivation.
It is true that we had a lot of songs to offer you this Friday, but I think this one is by far our number one.
Included in our "Indie Pop" Spotify playlist.
