Etaoin - I Dare You

"I Dare You" is Etaoin's third single, and it was released last Friday.

I think that in three singles, I became addicted. Etaoin's voice is really special, and with that kind of voice it's double or nothing: either you like it or you don't like it. But I loved it the first time I heard it.

And obviously, I'm not the only one. Because Etaoin has already accumulated over 80K monthly listeners on Spotify in just ... 3 months. Yes, only 3 months, and 3 singles. 450K streams. So I am definitely not the only one to love her fabulous voice.

Etaoin is Irish, and I love her accent. More imposing when she talks than when she sings, but I love it all the same. It's a cute accent! "I Dare You" is a breakup song that begins with very dark words, where the singer says memories are headstones, for example. A relationship that turns bad and our singer takes her best pen to write what she feels.

That's what I like about Etaoin: it's direct, sincere, and authentic. The writing is fluid and perfectly mastered. It's a bit brutal but so poetic and heartbreaking at the same time. Vocally, there is nothing to say: I don't think I have been so seduced by a voice for 20 years, the last time... was by Dido.

Despite melancholic songs, Etaoin is a very funny person in everyday life. And don't be fooled by appearances, because she always has a smile on her face. And it's always a pleasure to talk with her. Thank you Etaoin for being such a wonderful human being.
