Corinna Jane - Give Me A Sign

January 13, 2021

Corinna Jane seduced us on several levels. First emotionally. Her honest interpretation and powerful vocals on the chorus of "Give Me A Sign" make it an incredible pop anthem. Then, on the quality of production, and whether visually or musically. The song and its music video are worked out down to the smallest detail, and there is no room for chance. Painstaking work, which you can feel from the first to the last second! Quite used to a more classic register, with her magnificent piano covers (check out her Spotify and you'll get awesome surprises, like Dua Lipa's "Don't Start Now" piano cover), the artist tries out something more impactful and even more successful. The song carries a message of hope, and is a nod to her mother, who unfortunately passed away. And it seems that Corinna Jane expresses her deepest feelings in her music. The emotional wave is huge, here. We can't wait to hear what's next! Thank you Corinna for this incredible moment, like... out of time. We're sure your mother is proud of you and of the amazing job you're doing.

Included in our "Indie Pop" playlist, and of course, you will now hear this amazing track on the Indie Music Radio.

Corinna's point of view :

Recording the track with producer Francesco Arpino in Rome was like letting two kids run through a sweet shop. We were picking and choosing whatever came to our minds and the track grew in a way that neither of us had conceived before writing together.

Biography :

Corinna Jane is Franco-English, but was born in North-Rhine Westphalia, Germany, and grew up in Northhamptonshire, England. Growing up trilingual was a huge advantage, but a steady diet of MTV meant her primary passion was always music. She began composing as early as six years old and in her teens began forming her own unique brand of quirky alternative singer-songwriter pop. She has received airplay on BBC Radio 6, BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio alongside prime-time coverage on London Live TV, and has toured with her band around the Midlands, London and the North. Over lockdown, Corinna has seen success with her acoustic piano and vocal covers of both R.E.M and Dua Lipa tracks, and released a special EP called ‘Songs For My Mother’, dedicated to her mother who passed away earlier this year, with more of an introspective folk feel. Her newest EP ‘Queen of Wands’ features ‘Give Me A Sign’ as the first single.
