We have to cross the entire planet to meet our next discovery. It is in Australia that you will have the best chance of meeting Declan Ryan.

Maybe on a beach with a guitar at sunset. The young artist draws his inspiration from nature, and it gets along with this debut single. Because yes, it's hard to believe, but it's a debut single!

And although Australia is very far from Europe or the USA, the indie world proves once again that it is infinitely small. Because the debut singles of Declan are produced by ... Tay Oskee, an artist that we introduced to you 3 years ago ... and that Taylor T, a member of the IMC Family, has already had the chance to meet.

Looks like the Aussie coastal folk scene is welcoming a new member. And we can say that the quality is there. I believe that in nearly twenty years of musical promotion, I have never heard such guitar playing.

With very cinematic and nature-related lyrics, obviously, Declan Ryan paints incredible landscapes in this song, landscapes that he would like to share with those he loves.

With enchanting poetry, "So give me stars and I'll keep them in my pocket I'll miss you, far off where the sea ends", Declan seduced us in just a few seconds.

His voice, perfectly mastered and which doses the emotions with millimeter precision, will give you what you are looking for at IMC: the chills. For us, it is a masterpiece.

Ah, we almost forgot. Declan is 15 years old.

Added to our "Indie Music" Playlist.

What does the IMC Family think?

"This is great! I love how visual it is. The guitars are stunning and feel like waves that the vocals float on. A lovely folk song!" Luna Keller

"Wow, that is beautiful. Hearing influences of Ziggy Alberts and Garret Kato, definitely fits the coastal Australia scene super well, with delicate guitar riffs and a chilled polished vocal. Mindblown that he’s 15 with that level of lyrical depth!" Taylor T

"Very impressive for a 15-year-old. Sounds great!" The Satellite Station

Lyrics

Be all the skylines we see

They all look the same to you

But I would know better

Keep all the time with the sea

It all feels the same to me

But you would know better

And so we sit and wait

And so we sit and wait for darkness

Cause oh the sun's awake

And oh the sun's awake and it's changing

Just like we do

Just like we do

So give me stars and I'll keep them in my pocket

I'll miss you, far off where the sea ends

Take my guitar and I'll fly off in a rocket to see you

Then you and I can play pretend

Then you and I can play pretend

In all this pain you can hold my gaze

And oh I'll keep it close oh I'll keep it close to you

In all the ways this could break away

But it don't

So give me stars and I'll keep them in my pocket

I'll miss you, far off where the sea ends

Take my guitar and I'll fly off in a rocket to see you

Then you and I can play pretend

Then you and I can play pretend
