This is already the third time for Jewelia at IMC this year. The first time we fell in love with her voice, was with "Noah" in January. Then she did it again in April with the incredible “Is This World Mine?”.
This new single is a question, once again: "Was it You or Was it Me?". This is the question we can all ask ourselves at the end of a relationship. Whose fault is it? Did we do something wrong?
With a clever reference to a 40-year-old Abba song slipped into the second verse, Jewelia once again wields words like a juggling poet. All with vocal ease that will always amaze us. As a singer, she has this incredible advantage: a unique voice, which makes it easy to recognize her, in a world where Spotify offers us 50,000 new tracks every day. Jewelia has an exceptional voice, which gives her this power of identification, as Sia or Dido can have.
This new single is quite heartbreaking. We know Jewelia pretty well now, and it would be inconceivable to us for anyone to think of hurting such a nice person. And on the other hand, you just want to give him a pat on the shoulder, like a friend would, and say "come on, keep moving forward, he didn't deserve you".
The fragility and sincerity of Jewelia shine through this masterpiece. Yes, we can once again speak of a masterpiece when every element is in the right place: the vocals, the lyrics, the production, and also the magnificent music video that you will discover next Friday. It's a pretty difficult bet for an artist. But Jewelia succeeds in this complicated puzzle every time.
Added to our Main Spotify Playlist, our "Without You" playlist, and played daily on Indie Music Center's Radio.

Lyrics
I heard this song on the radio
Hadn't heard it in a long time, not in a long time
Played in the car while I was driving alone
Remember, you were with me last time, you were with me last time
It's odd to think that we don't talk
That we don't see each other anymore
How can you cut somebody off?
Like they meant nothing, nothing at all
Guess I was never enough
Or maybe I was just too much to deal with
Was it you or was it me?
I made a wish as I released
The lantern floating by the sea
Guess it wasn't meant to be
There was a time when I was sure
That I would never be alone, never be alone
But I don't place bets anymore
The winner takes it all, they said it in a song
It's odd to think that we don't talk
That we don't see each other anymore
How can you cut somebody off?
Like they meant nothing, nothing at all
Guess I was never enough
Or maybe I was just too much to deal with
Was it you or was it me?
I made a wish as I released
The lantern floating by the sea
Guess it wasn't meant to be
Was it you or was it me?
Was it you or was it me?
