We introduced you to James Ghareeb in December 2020 with "I Remember". Yes, we agree with what you are thinking right now: it's been too long. We were looking forward to seeing this artist again on IMC and we can say that the wait was worth it.
Back with a new single, "Crooks", James Ghareeb has kept what makes the magic recipe of his songs: an unmissable authenticity, a lot of emotion in the writing and vocal interpretation, a lot of power in the melody, and an enormous level of professionalism in the production.
"Crooks" is the song that makes us feels good. As James told us, it's about "the importance of mental health and how it can change a person". So it's something that could relate to a lot of people. And regarding the quality of this track, we sincerely think it could help you. If it's not you, it could be your neighbor. Or anyone else who could be in trouble and that you could be able to help. Reaching out is a free gesture that doesn't need a marketing campaign.
Guitar, piano, bass, saxophone, drums... We loved each instrument. Each figures prominently, and what we find great and rare: they are not drowned in the mix. We hear each instrument distinctly, and they all have the space they deserve. Small special mention for the drums, which made us tap our fingers on the desk while shaking our heads.
The track gradually gains in intensity, until a delicious final part, and James Ghareeb then turns into a magician. Almost like a hypnotist. We are caught by his voice on the last chorus. And it's the saxophone that wakes us up. Amazed. With the desire to listen again. Again and again.
As you will have understood, in two years the artist from Chicago, who now lives in Los Angeles, has grown up and his music evolves with him. Always better with the years.
Reach out to James Ghareeb
