"All I Never Wanted" is a song about a girl I used to date. At the time being I didn't understand how toxic the relationship actually was. It was only years later that I realized that her breaking up with me was the best thing that could have happened to me. So this track is my way of saying: "thank you, for breaking my heart". It has helped me grow, even though you never intended me to.

Jacob Weil - Feeling My Youth (EP)

One of the nicest surprises we have had at the start of the year is probably Jacob Weil's EP. 7 songs, 7 universes to discover. He is not afraid of mixing genres, and his sharp writing and incredible voice will seduce you in this opus. An artist who's unfortunately underestimated, but who could take off this year. To watch closely! Touching, genuine, and honest, Jacob moved us and we are sure this EP will be in good ears if it's yours.

Jacob's point of view :

After years spent on the road, playing in bands and touring the music of others across North America, it feels almost surreal to finally be releasing music of my own. The seven songs of this EP, mostly written during the few days off I had between tours, centre thematically around the idea of growth and youthful ideals; how the decisions you make in your younger days will often end up dictating your adult life in significant ways. The whole EP was recorded live off the floor in Los Angeles, CA, with a phenomenal group of musicians I met during years of touring, and I am beyond excited to begin sharing those songs that we made together.

About Jacob Weil :

Originally from Hamilton, ON, and currently based out of Vancouver, BC. He has spent much of the past 3 years zig-zagging across North America as a gun-for-hire musician supporting Canadian acts Davenport and Sam Weber (Sonic Unyon Records). As a solo artist and singer-songwriter, Jacob began as a teenager, but fell out of habit with the writing process after high-school, shifting his focus toward bringing the music of his friends alive instead. It wasn’t until playing for months on end on the road with Sam Weber, that Jacob began writing songs for himself again in the back of the van after shows and during weeks at home between tours. In early 2020, after finally re-discovering his own unique sound and storytellers voice, Jacob put his feet to the pavement, recording a debut 7-track EP in Los Angeles, CA alongside friends made during years of touring. Floating purposefully between the genres of folk, Americana and alternative music, Jacob prides himself in storytelling and creating a unique musical space with each song and performance. His first single ‘Feeling My Youth’ is due out on December 4th, and the full EP of the same name has been released today, January 22nd, 2021.

The Satellite Station is the moniker of singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Travis Rue. Known for his haunting folk-inspired melodies and emotionally deep lyrics, Rue’s storytelling shares his perspective on life and the challenges and joys of being human. Clouds And Thorns - Call You Home

I have to admit, I've known Rich Andruska (the man behind) and his various projects for years. Chance was that we had never met up close. But the world of indie music is so small, in reality, that it was impossible not to cross paths one day. So here we are! I have always loved hearing Clouds and Thorns from my friends at ARBM, and it is with great pleasure that I present the new single that is released today. Another huge anthemic folk track that will warm your evenings and your hearts. And we all really need it right now. As usual with Clouds and Thorns, the melody is amazing and envelops you like bubble wrap. We feel safe, and we are not ashamed to sing loud and clear. Yes! Singing along easily is all the magical power of Clouds and Thorns melodies and "Call You Home" is no exception to Rich Andruska's (already long) repertoire. To be shared massively.

Clouds And Thorns's point of view :

I started writing it about 3 years ago. I was feeling a bit nostalgic for my old days on the road with my previous band back in the early 2000's. I lOVE road trips. I LOVE driving. Just the meditative nature of motion and the slowly changing landscape. It feels VERY spiritual to me as, I imagine, it does for many people. In my missing of that feeling, in my head, I was visualizing kind of like a movie playing out. It was about a couple on a road trip... and how these kinds of trips don't so much change you, as they reveal who you are slowly... as well as what the real relationship between two people is. I wanted to show how tiny moments like "drumming on the dashboard" were just as monumental as travelling far to "see the northern lights." That to find yourself and your place in it all, you have to get a little lost in a "two-lane maze". Perhaps that's a little obvious when doing anything about being on the road... but I wanted listeners to be on that journey... feel like they're in the passenger seat. Unfortunately, while working on the song, I had to have some throat surgery... So it took a couple of years for my voice to get back to the place where I could match the sound and vibe of what I had already recorded. But that did give me time to really craft the lyrics in a way that made me happy.

Flo Chase - More of You

It's been more than a year since we let ourselves be seduced by Flo Chase thanks to "Spinning Wheel". And we were impatiently awaiting his return! His album "Toi" is being prepared, and "More of You" is the first single. Another success with a melody that stays in mind, and a bit the same construction as "Spinning Wheel": no final chorus but an explosions of auditory flavors which are pleasant to hear. A declaration of love that does not hide, "All that I need is a little more of you in my life". Well, we could say the same to Flo Chase!
